What Password Management Solutions do you use?

Hey Guys,

As internet marketers it is inevitable that we will pick up many different accounts online and the only real way to have a chance of security is the use of multiple passwords. To that end I started using a password management system quite a while back however I am now at a stage where I am beginning to think that there should be some sort of failsafe.

What happens if the management solution were to suddenly die for whatever reason? I know for a fact that there are accounts I would not be able to get back into; that's when I started wondering how you can back up your back up securely? Most of my thoughts so far have been along the lines of password protected (ironic I know) database or spreadsheet files but then you have to consider where these would be stored and the possibility that these could be compromised.

So Warriors, I ask you this; What password management solutions do you currently use and how could they be improved?

EDIT: The following is quoted from below as people don't like to read...

Just to confirm I am already using Roboform and I know they have online back up, thats how I reached the stage where I don't know half my passwords I just figured that putting my faith in the fact they will always have those might not be the best solution. If their servers were to malfunction or even go down for a while then there would be no access and I would be locked out of a lot of things. Perhaps I'm worrying too much about it but this seems like something that shouldn't be taken lightly.

Roboform. It backs everything up to their website as well so I don't worry about losing passwords ever. Just jump on a new computer and sync away.

    LOVE it.

I'm using last pass too as I got swayed by the pretty website and iphone app!

I used to use the firefox password manager but recently started using chrome on the pc as it's a little quicker. Unfortunately there are still FF things (firebug, developer tools, print without headers) I cant live without, so end up using two browsers on my laptop, desktop and office machine. That's six different browser installs (not including iphone, media centre, toaster ) all with different saved passwords - a nightmare without some form of centralised password management!

Roboform. Firefox password manager as a backup to roboform, which I actually needed because a new version update of roboform accidentally changed my master password.

I also have one or two 'junk' passwords that I alternate between and use for almost everything that is not essential (or paid access) but requires a password. I figure this way it just doesn't matter if it gets hacked and I can remember it if I am on a computer without my flash drive and roboform.

      I don't trust any company's online backup 100%. I've been burned before!

I've been using RF for 6 or 7 years now, and I always do my own backup of all my passwords. I actually have backups in 2 separate places. I have 100's of passwords and would be screwed if they every got lost somehow.

Yes I was thinking possibly along those lines as well. From the way this post has been going so far I can imagine in about 10-20 years there will be a ton of money and lost information sitting in various accounts across the web.

        I agree...

I just wanted to be prepared and make sure my wife and kids are taken care of in case the worst happened. And not by some insurance policy that would run out in a couple years. With the way I have it set up now, she could come in and run it all fairly quickly and maintain our lifestyle for her and the kids.

I too used to be an evangelist for roboForm, Used it for years. But eventually I got tired of being charged for every additional feature.

A few months ago I changed over to Lastpass, which is a free password manager that does everything I need.

Rack up another vote for LastPass. Don't know what I would do without it. You can also setup profiles for filling out forms.

    Greetings -

I'm a big believer in KeePass. The program is simple and keeps all my passwords on my computer using one master password. There are a couple of plug-ins for the program - one lets me keep a backup on a USB stick, and the other loads my user name and password when I click on the link to the login page (also stored in KeePass).

The USB is secure and does double duty - backing up the hard drive files and letting me go mobile (but you can have as many backup as you'd like). KeePass is at KeePass Password Safe, and the plug-ins are linked on that same page. Good luck!

    Hi

I use Access Manager 2 - FREE fast, easy and secure password storage
This is a free piece of software I find some time ago on a PC magazine.
The good thing about this is you just need one password to acess the tool.
It stores usernames, passwords and site url's.
You open the site from the tool and just drag and drop to login.

I got it installed in my PC and on a usb pen drive this way I just take
the drive with me and acess my sites from any pc.

      I use the Firefox plugin.

You can back up to a csv file or an encrypted file in the tools section.

I use Roboform as well but does anyone know how safe it is? If someone were to get your Roboform password they would have access to ALL of your accounts. I have always wondered about how secure our Roboform passwords are (from hackers, keyloggers, and the like).
