Whats Your Favorite Reasons For Starting Your Own Online Business?

Mine are as follows:

I love being my own boss, I can set my own hours work when I want, where I want!

I hate trying to make someone else rich.

I hate being underappreciated when I work for someone else.

I love being able to sell to the whole world from my home office. Lol how cool is that? You have to love the Internet best invention ever, hands down!

MY QUESTION TO EVERYONE ELSE?

What finally was the last straw when you said to yourself screw this I am gonna start my own home based business? I just cannot do this 9 to 5 B.S forever!

    Freedom.

There's so many reasons but that's the one I like best, being able to do what I want when I want.

The best thing about it in my opinion is the fact that I can do it from anywhere in the world. So I am not chained to one geography.

It is very exciting to think about where in the world you would choose to live if you could live anywhere.

I currently work from home and have tried some ventures on the past and can honestly say the reason I still work from home for a boss other than myself is my own fault. Most of the time it was lack of knowledge sometimes other reasons but I am always thankful for the lessons in each endeavor.

I am trying to work into something that allows me to be my own boss while growing a lucrative online business because I love working from home and would like to own my own business and make more money than my current job. I also like to be constantly learning and I really see how finding something that makes money then scaling it up and adding other projects and building that business will allow me to learn a lot and always stay challenged and busy. :-)

Well, I can work from anywhere in the world and many more reasons. Also, being an entrepreneur has the advantage of choosing when you want to work and when you want to take good time. There is no boss telling you what, when and how you should work.

For me it's only about freedom. I go to sleep at 05:00 am and wake up at 12:00 pm, I play video game at 03:00 pm and can travel on Wednesday. So it's not about money as many people think, but freedom. Now I'm the owner of my own life and it's what really matters for me

There are many reasons why l started my online business. I use to be a self employed carpenter getting up at 5am and not getting home until 7pm. I use to earn a good wage but the problem was l always had to phone around people to chase up my money. Sometimes waiting over 3 months to get paid from certain jobs. This was one of the main reason l quit my job and became a full time internet marketer.

At the moment l works from home. I get up at 8.30am and start at 9.00pm. I still put in the hours but l no longer gets stressed about when I'm going to get paid. One of the other reason's l started to do this is because of the money, once you now what you're doing is quite simple to make a lot of money from the internet

Actually, in 1976, right after graduating high school, I did a really stupid thing. I joined the Canadian Armed Forces.

Why? I drove a buddy of mine to the recruiting center. While there, I talked to the officer. Looked at all the cool stuff. Decided, "What the hell! This could be fun. Get to shoot automatic weapons and get an education. What ho!"

A few months later, I was in Cornwallis, NS and being peed on continually - both by the soggy East Coast climate and the NCOs. The weird, twisted part of me loved the deprivation, hard physical exercise, and even the crappy mess food.

What I discovered I didn't like was being told what to do. I got in arguments with the Master Corporals - one of which was twice my size. I decked my squad leader, and got away with it by covering my name pin. I got into a fight with another asinine squad leader. I was threatened with jail by my Seargent, if I ever looked at him "that way" again.

Needless to say, I got out. I could foresee 5 years of jail sentences for hitting stupid officers. I detested being told what to do by those I considered inferior in intelligence to me. I got out during the 4-week grace period.

Returned to civilian life and found that I felt the same about bosses. Decided then and there to be an entrepreneur. Never looked back!

I got tired of making the company double profits from $40,000 a week to $80,000 a week and I got paid "SALARY" of $350 a week.. (15+ years ago that was not much after taxes)...

So while I did not start off making $350 a week online and some weeks I made nothing at all while other weeks I made thousands, I will never regret leaving my J.O.B. behind over 15 years ago...

For me it boils down to what I can do and what I can't do. I can't do most things (eg work for Cirque du Soleil, research quantum physics, or compose jingles for TV) but there is a very limited range of things that I can do, one of which is online business.

I'll have to second Kevin Hutto. My biggest reasons is portability. Being able to work in either the Philippines or USA is critical. We are a two nation family, and do not wish to neglect either family.

Then you add in our desire to travel to many other destinations around the world over the next few years, and the freedom to work anywhere becomes even more important.

    Freedom.

    Not having a boss.

    Creative outlet.

About the last one. I used to sharpen about 100 circular saws every day. I ran 5 machines simultaneously to do this, and it was dirty, monotonous work. I did an excellent job, and took pride in the quality of my work.

However, there was not a whole lot of creativity needed, and I've always been more the creative type, than the factory type.

Being able to earn money by using my brain, as opposed to being a semi-mindless drone, is an awesome feeling.

Don't get the wrong idea. The job wasn't all bad. It had some interesting challenges, and I worked with and for family, so that was cool. It's just that the job wasn't a good match for me. After close to ten years of working there, I left one Friday afternoon and knew I was never going back.

Thanks Warrior Forum! I couldn't have done it without you.

    All the best,
    Michael

Hey I'm Eric and I'm new to this forum.

My top reasons for starting an Internet Marketing Buisness are:
Having total control about what you can do and not being told by anyone else.
When you do a job well by yourself, an being told to by a "boss", you feel so much more satisfaction.

Yes, I can set my own work hours, except I spend even more time on my business and enjoy every moment of it.

I hate trying to make someone else rich.
I don't mind making someone else rich, if it makes me richer! There's plenty of money to go around, so if you have such attitude towards money, it's hard to attract more. Cue: Law of Attraction, and T. Harv Eker, Anthony Robbins and many others.

I hate being underappreciated when I work for someone else.

When it wasn't 9 to 5? My day job started from 7am and I usually left the office just before 7pm, and had to do more work at night, and weekends are burnt as well.

Actually, the main reason is I just want to stay at home to spend time with my baby.

In my country Malaysia, working from home is not popular yet. Especially if you are housewife with good education background. People at the countryside especially will called you stupid for spending years at university yet staying home to care for your kids...

I'm not going to change this people thinking, but i know i am more brilliant than them if i can generate thousands per month just from home....

I like being able to set my own hours. I'm an early riser, and by 8am I should be have five hours worth of work completed. It was frustrating to start at 8am.

My income depends on my efforts only, and my job is secure. I'm less likely to fire myself.

        No office politics.

Firstly, freedom to travel, to be able to visit my family and stay with them for long weekends, to visit friends and not worry about getting back to work on Monday at 9 am

Secondly, to give me my chance to change the world. I'm not there yet, but my income is building and eventually it'll give me the time and the voice I need to do things that really matter in life and to help good causes.

Since the time when I was an undergraduate there was a big dream in my life. That's starting my own business after completing the degree. But, I never thought in the way of internet marketing, and my plan was installing satellite TV units for houses. But, I hadn't an initial capital for invest and actually, I didn't think about bank loans too (I had a mind like do it yourself)

How to find initial capital for my business? I thought in few ways......... and one day searched internet............

The reason that I got serious about my own business is because life is too short to tie yourself to someone else's "dreams" -

I worked a job where I was on call 24/7, worked 7 days a week, usually 12 hours a day, during the busy "season" (which incidentially coincided with spring, summer, and every single holiday throughout the year). I was one of the most dedicated executive level employees in the company, and still every one to two years, the "owners" attempted to reinvent the wheel by reorganizing their business, shuffling employees around, changing even those of us in the highest ranking positions within the company around into different departments, and basically throwing everything into utter chaos with their attempts to be "intuitive."

Finally, enough was enough, and I took a long hard look at my life, reorganized my priorities, took a job paying quite a bit less money, but that is strictly 8-5. Now I work from 6-9 nightly, and all day Saturday-Sunday, on growing my business. It takes more time this way, but within the year, the income should be better than what I was making before at my old job. The best part is, the only one who will be able to change things in my future will be me, and I no longer miss holidays, birthdays, and other special dates with my family.

For me, it was all about the freedom. Like Kevin said, I was getting sick of bosses throwing their weight around and demanding very unreasonable things not because they were absolutely necessary, but more because they wanted to see you working "productively", so to speak. I was staying back at work late just to fulfill these requests, and for me after one too many of those I just snapped, and told myself I'd never be working for anyone else again.
