Hi all,

I am about to start my own blog. I am using word press and was stuck with a theme to use. Is there a certain theme that converts better. When I mean convert it is for collecting subscribers.

I will be using the blog to tell people about myself how and what I have achieved in the Internet Marketing world. Give some advice on techniques that have and not worked for me and sell some of my own products.

Now I don't just want people to put in affiliate links to the best blogging ebook or course either just some advice. I have had a look at a few marketers blog that I am on the lists of, some are good and others are just too busy with banner adds google AdWords and are hard to look at.

Cheers

Craig

If you've got the money, head out to WooThemes|Premium WordPress Themes and check out their collection. Their themes are wayy better than the regular WP ones, and you'll be sure to find something that suits your needs.

"Bueno", "Headlines", "Mainstream" and "MyWeblog" might suit your requirements, IMHO.

there are various plugins you can install. One is that redirect them to a squeeze page prior to leaving a comment. I would suggest you try that one out.

The theme you use doesn't necessarily equal conversions. You must first look for a theme that appeals to you. Lots of people will say you need a paid for theme but this is not true.

Do a google search for wordpress themes or go to wordpress.org > extend > themes and search through the free themes. Depending on how ambitious you are you can get a free theme that has a lot of options or just get one that works - FOR YOU - out of the box.

If you would like, when searching for a theme, enter you niche topic in the search criteria like = wordpress theme automotive

Please don't fall for the mindset that a free theme is not a good theme until you research this for yourself and come to that conclusion. You might checkout flexibilty or f2 as 1 is highly customizable and the other has a few easy options.

I'm with tbunch, choosing a theme (paid or free) shouldn't be a big issue when you are starting out.
    Its the conversions that count.

So when people land on your page, ask yourself what is it that you want them to do? I would say the goal is to get them to join your list.
So 2 things come into play:
    1) Great content that people can use
    2) A good bribe so that they can opt-in and you can build your list.

Keep it simple, a busy blog is not always the best.

P.S. Flexibility2 is a great theme that gives you options in customizing your blog n different colors, number or columns etc -- and it's free.
