I'm completely new at this...

Signed up in this forum last week sometime and came across a thread in here that stated "we shouldn't believe any of you and your claims..." I guess this is my response to these threads (I believe there was two in the last several days).

I see all these threads where people are frustrated because they haven't made a sale or adsense doesn't show six digit figures. Does this mean I should be excited? On Sunday March 7th, after six months of research, I finally decided to take the plunge into this whole world of "internet marketing." Now two weeks later I couldn't be more happy with the results.

Naturally, my adsense account doesn't show $1000 daily. But in these two weeks and with a little bit of advertising (as a test) I've made $30. I stopped paying for the advertising and obviously my adsense has dropped to nearly nothing. What the test proved to me was that my niche will become profitable once traffic arrives. This is why I will continue my marketing efforts for this project.

I am posting this because I want other newbies like me that are just now coming onto this board to see that there are people who are successful at this. That, unlike the posters in those "don't believe anything" threads, it is possible to make this work for you. I want to be successful at this and have been working damn hard to do so.

Something I've noticed about these early days is that this is certainly not easy. Today alone I've spent 10 hours on my site and marketing efforts. I am a results driven person and I look at each and every way where I can improve my site and methods.

Because of this hard work I feel I have been rewarded by the all mighty Google as my page ranks 251st out of 14 million. As I said I'm two weeks in and I don't think anything else could motivate me more than that eventual 1st page ranking.

Bottom line is that it is my hope that another newbie like me can come in here and see this thread, to understand that those "make $1000 daily" claims are most likely true because at one point there were in the same position as us newbies.

Understandably, my measly $30 in two weeks is just pennies to the big boys that roam here and other forums I frequent. But to me it shows that with a little tenacity this can be a very viable form of income. And at least I'm not in here bitching because I followed "$100,000 a day Guru's ebook" to the tee and didn't make a dime in an over-saturated niche....

First of all, congrats on that little bit of success you've seen.

I totally agree with you about people complaining when they follow some product that they purchased - and they're pissin' and moanin' when they aren't seeing HUGE numbers in a matter of days.

Everything takes time. Time to learn the new material... and then more time on top of that to see results from what you've learned.

You already know that nothing is ever going to be "easy", and that's an IMPORTANT first step. The fact that you've already had your taste of 10 hour days behind the computer tells me you've got what it takes to make it.

So hang in there, and keep workin' hard!

    All the best,

i see a lot of similarity between you and i. The 1st page ranking (like you) is what drove me to 14 hour days for the first two months. While I do now have that 1st page ranking (4th result) i laugh at how much my whole marketing perspective has changed.

you are on the right track man.

you WILL make money, a LOT of it in fact.

you just have to keep putting in those long hours and do your best.

    good job and good luck

I think part of my early success is proper research. And not just keyword research. I read and read and read. I saw what people said they did wrong, I saw what people did right, what they said worked. I don't think I can stress this enough, that thorough research should be the first thing a newbie like me needs to focus on.

A great example is that while I now work on marketing my current site I am starting research on my next idea. And it is that one two punch process that keeps me so excited about this profession.

I also have noticed a lot of what I would like to call my fellow marketers are very secretive. And I kind of like the fact that in these communities you almost need to be juiced in. Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. Simply put, I look forward to all my hard work (and sometimes sleepless nights) paying off.
