WordPress - How Show Comments on Page?

When I create WordPress posts or pages, at the bottom is a Comments link that must be clicked to view the comments others have made.

On other blogs, however, I can see the comments right away, without having to click anything.

What's the trick? Thanks.

I have the same prob too....they show up on the individual page for the post, but on the main page of the blog, it doesn't show comments.

I'm pretty sure that's just the way wordpress works. I just noticed mine does the same thing.

I'm sure you could probably alter the code to make it show up.

Not sure you'd want a huge long list of comments on your front page though. ??

It'd be nice if you could show a snippet of them though; at least other readers would see that you are a site with interactivity going on and not just static postings.

*sigh* The things they do to make my time disappear online in a blink....

Rather than have comments on the main page under each post, why not use something like the recent comments plugin and show an excerpt of the latest comments in the sidebar?

Well, well Mr. Smarty Pants. Don't you think you're just too smart.
:p LOL. Thanks for the tip. I don't know why I didn't think of that myself.

Probably cuz I have more plugins and outs than I know what to do with lately.

Most of this is controlled by the theme your using, some themes are more flexible than others.

Try experimenting with some different ones.

            Best!

Yes, As Eric said, it is related to the THEME you are currently using at your blog. You may need to try different wordpress theme which has installed that code for the functionality you are looking for.

Normally the comments only shown in the individual blog posts. You can follow John's advise.. use the recent comment plugin.

      Thanks for the tips.

I didn't want to use a recent comments plugin showing comments across the entire blog in the sidebar. Instead, I wanted to show the running discussion that is part of each post / blog.

      Like this forum thread.

If it is a theme issue, then the coding in the theme should be easily changeable to display the comments. Any ideas on what that change needs to be?
