Article Marketing Questions

Hi

I am pretty new to everything IM. I have been reading and researching all the techniques that i could get a hold of for the last few months, but i have a few question regarding the article side of things.

At first, i was very confused, i thought that the only reason you posted on article sites as to create backlinks to your main website to increase its SEO. But after re-reading some things i have come to the conclusion that you actually aim at getting traffic from article sites. Is this correct? Or have i got it wrong again.

If so, what makes certain articles get so many more views than others? I was browsing some ezine articles yesterday, and i decided to look in the weight loss section.

The most popular weight loss article in the last 60 days is one titled "How to Lose a Pound of Fat Every Day - Do it the Right Way" and it has 76,000 views.

The 11th most popular weight loss article in the last 60 days is titled "Lose 25 Pounds in Under 30 Days by Using **** Berry - Try the Best Weight Loss Program Ever" and only has 4,000 views.

Now, why does that first on have so many views compared to the others? What is his secret? Surely he hasn't gained that extra 70k views simply by the title?

If anyone could explain how to get popular articles, or even if there are some free guides someone could link me to, i would be very thankful.

Thanks

You can post articles either to creat backlinks or to get traffic. I prefer to do article marketing to get traffic.

Well there are ways to trick the system obviously, such as paid traffic (or junk traffic).

If you going whitehat of course keyword research is vital to success.

  • Article marketing is great for initially building up a list, that you can then later build a relationship with, and ideally have a win-win situation. (You succeed monetary, and they get a solution to their concern/problem).

Getting backlinks is one of the main benefits of putting articles up on sites like EZineArticles. But you'll also get traffic from your articles too.

When I put new articles up I always get a little surge of traffic in the days following approval. And as people see your article and then republish it on their own sites you may also get another little trickle coming in.

Some people's articles have more views than others because they spent a lot of time getting them ranked high in Google, so they receive a lot of traffic from the search engines.

Hmmm, it's all very confusing, I have no idea where i should start!

I was reading "Daniel Brock's" guide on amazon affiliation, and i would really like to give this a go. But I am just not sure where my traffic should be coming from. Do i have to create a wordpress site? Or can i just have a blogger page? And either way, surely it will be months until the page gets high enough to get any traffic that will get me any kind of money?

    Thanks

Do yourself a favor and look up a guy named Tim Gorman. He is an article marketing specialist. He is, in my view, among the very best article marketing teachers you can ever pay attention to. He walks the talk. Straight shooter.

Check out his WSO here: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...will-sold.html

I have not bought it so this is not a direct endorsement, but I have bought other offerings of his over the years and the guy is solid. See what kind of feedback that product has gotten and if you have $37 to spend on your education, I think you'd be starting off learning from one of the best out there.

I'm new to IM and have the same sort of confusion. Is affiliate marketing more effective in driving traffic to build a list or solicit sales? My thinking is that building the list will be more profitable over the long run as oppose to trying to obtain a sale earlier in the sales process. Thoughts?

Article marketing can be a two-fold strategy. You can use 2 links in your resource box. I like to link 1 to a capture page and the other back to a deep link in your blog.

That way you have 2 different sources of traffic and the backlink to your blog.

      It Rocks.

      Hope that helps you.

If the article is well written and offers some good value for the readers it can naturally get lot of views, but you still have to get your keywords right. Also lot of authors do some link building to the articles itself to improve their performance. And once your article gets lot of views it become kind of like a chain reaction as it gets featured more and then it gets even more views and so on.

Article Marketing can be a lot of things.

Sometimes it starts out simple (read theDAMway.com by PotPieGirl), but if it looks promising, it morphs into a landing page with an opt-in - then maybe later a full blown blog/website.

By starting out with just a top level domain redirect you can quickly find out if the niche is profitable and if the vendors sales page converts. Put more effort into it only if warranted.
