I got ranked on 2nd page of google from 13.5 MIL Results

Ok...so I don't want to brag or stuff, I just want to point out that if you target your keywords right you can get a good position.

The thing with the keyword that i picked is: tho when you normally search on google you have 13.5 MIL results, when you search for it in quotations you only have ---3--- and atm those are all mine, there were no results for it before.
The keyword is not heavily searched, it has around 12-15k searches per month, but my point is that if you really look... you might find something like I did.

And I did it with one article at EZA.
I Placed the keyword in the title, in the first paragraph, 4 times in the article body, and in the last paragraph.

And I am now working on getting it onto the first page by getting some links to it.

Great job bro, but there are some flaws in your system.

It looks like you basically got lucky. Ranking page 2 on Google for a term like that is not going to be as simple as writing a single article every time.

Not trying to burst any bubbles or be rude. This WILL work in some cases, but more often it won't show up anywhere near page 2.

Well.....from what he said, there are only 3 competing pages in google for his exact phrase and they are all him lol

Your example in and of itself, if I understand it correctly should tell you all you need to know.

If I go to google and type in green wacky widgets without quotation marks I get roughly 200,000 results, right?

Surely, If I wrote an article titled green wacky widgets - Get Your green Wacky Widgets Here! I would rank highly for the term.

True. It will work in some instances. But not always.

I've achieved 6th or 7th rank on the first page of Google with 218 million competing pages with one article that I'd submitted to EZA and was receiving roughly 30 uniques a day for months on end.

But as Ross mentions, it's not a perfect science.

I know it's not a perfect system or something like that, but sometimes it works

And this isn't the first time something like this happened to me.

        Congratulations.
I'm just starting to get the hang of it myself.
If I choose my keywords right , without too much compitition with the search in quotes. I can write the article and book mark it and link to it and get on the first page.
I pretty much have that to a science.
I'm goind to concentrate on dominating all the long tail less popular searches in my niche.

All of you are thinking wrong. You have never a competition more than 1000 in google and yahoo for any keyword or phrase and what the number you see on the search engine, that is not the number of pages for any keyword. That is a number about how many times that term have been used in all the indexed pages in the search engine and I can proove it.

Just go to advance search and set the number of pages to 100 and put up any keyword term in search text box, click on Search button. You will see a long list of pages and millions of count on the search engine.

Now click on 10th page hyperlink displaying in the bottom with the Next Button. you will be at the last page and google will tell you that there is no more relevent page for your keyword.

so what the conclusion is that there is never a competetion for any keyword phrase or term more than 1000 and you may get rank on first 100 websites just for simple seo and if you try more you could get on 3rd, 2nd or 1st page for any highly compatetive keyword term, but for that you will have to optimize your every page and perfect onpage optimization is performed when you place your keywords 15 accurate places. What these places are?

One more thing, Google or Yahoo does not rank whole website. They rank pages. So if you want high ranking, you will have to optimize your every page. How you can get all these things performed in a right manner? Sorry... I can not tell all these issues in this simple comment, but don't worry, you may visit my blog where I am discussing all these things.
