Can URL Shortener Track Affiliate Links?

Hi all,

I am trying to mask my affiliate links in my banner ads using url shortener. I am not sure if that will work and would they still be able to track the click thru and sales from this 'shrink' link? Please advice!

Do you mean will it still track the affiliate cookie? Generally yes, sites like tinyurl, etc will allow you to shorten your affiliate links without losing tracking ability as far as I know.

If you're referring to tracking as related to stats on your click-thrus from your links, you would likely need a cloaking script that would be uploaded and hosted on your web server.

Otherwise, a decent link cloaking software that you can run straight from your computer desktop would do the trick.

Yes they do. They can also track how many times your link was clicked, e.g bit.ly
