What is the Average Number of Visitors I Should Aim For?

Hi all,

One of my blog have about 150 - 200 visitors a day. However, I don't seem to be able to convert them. Any advice?

Secondly, is there any 'ideal' number of visitors I should aim for as a beginner? Thanks!

It depends on your visitor conversion rate and how much money you want to make with your blog.

Do this math and you'll know the number of visitors you should work toward.

The correcr way to look at it is via this equation:

    Number_of_Vistors X ConversionRate = $$$$$$

So it doesn;t matter how many visitors turn up at your website, if none of them convert.

The invserse is true, if you had a 100% conversion factor, then a very small number of visitors will make any site profitable.

The "average" successful sales letter convertion rate on the web is 1-5%

So if you get 100 visitors turning up, and you convert at 1% then 1 person is gonna buy (100 X 1% = 1)

    if 5% convert , then 5 sales.

So, we can't give you an average traffic number, becuase it depends on your conversion rate

Hope this helps and makes sense

It depends on what you are trying to convert them to - members, subscribers, buyers? think as they are and try to work out what is stopping them - or better still - ask them!

As many as possible as long as they are targeted traffic for your niche. There is no point of getting 1000's and 1000's of visitors if they are not interested in what you are selling. When you first start out as an internet marketer one the hardest things to do is generate targeted traffic. You're not alone, many people struggle to get even get 100 targeted visitors a day to their sites. The good news is it can easily been done as long as you know what you are doing. By getting more targeted visitors to your site you're conversion rate will improve.
    Good luck to your future

I think 150 - 200 visitors is a good number to aim for. This is a number that shows me that a good number of people are visiting the site.

When I build a website though, my goals are more in terms of daily income, than daily visitors. If I can make $ 25 each day, that is a page I need to take care of and build upon further. I will see during the growth of the website how many daily visitors I will need to reach that first goal.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will be working on the following to generate the traffic....

    - Article Marketing
    - Social bookmarking

Realize that they are all link building strategies. Is there any off site SEO that I might have overlooked?

What you do is, you look at your traffic and then x10 it, once you get it to that total you x10 it again and again and again and again and again and again, recurring :p. It's like saying how many sales do I want to make a year, you obviously want to make as much as possible.

From everything I've learned the conversion rate is the most important factor. You need to be attracting the right audience. You need to know what they are searching for and make your ad-copy (blog) relevant. I think it is a something we need to continually work on - at least for me. Best of Luck.

It depends on the intent of the visitor
for example if you have traffic coming from the keyword where to get free ebooks then your conversion is going to be very low, because people are coming in to get something free.

If they come from keywords buy xxxxx or best prices for xxxxx they are definitely looking to buy and if you have a good offer you will have high conversion rates.
