Long or Short Copy on Upsell?

I have one-click post-sale upsells on my products.

I realize it all should come down to testing -- but does anyone know what has been shown to work better... Long or short copy?

I feel the copy should be shorter since the person is eager to get to the product they just purchased.

But I'd just like your feedback.

I also have heard video is the best.. but I am not sure i am ready to go that route yet.

I like to do short copy on the upsells because it converts good most of the time for low

ticket items but on expensive products long copy has proven to work really good for me.

BTW, I am slowly diverting to a video instead of sales copy because it has worked better than both long or short sales copy for me so you might wanna consider that too.

If someone is already sold on a product that rabbiting on forever is only going to make them walk away.

If they have bought from you previously then tell them you have a product that could help them and let them know it exists, you need do nothing more unless you are desperate.

If they want it they will take it, if they don't they will know where to find you again, and they won't make any special reason to avoid you.

I have two rules of thumb on copy...

    1) Say as much as you need to say without repeating anything, and not a word more.

    2) The more expensive the product the more copy is needed to make the potential buyer feel comfortable in making a buy decision.

Not that I know anything about writing copy.

    Test, test, test.
