So Many Questions about Running WSOs.....

lol....forgive me for all these questions in advance....I've been surveying the WSO forum for quite some time, and it appears to be quite intimidating....

i'm sure some may have the same questions...

1) Should a WSO be a direct cut and past of one's sales page/sales copy?....i've seen some people direct others to a sales page, while others just have a button to purchase that links strait to a PayPal/eJunkie payment screen....
2) I've seen some use a "WSO Pro"....would you recommend it for people interested in running a WSO?....it appears like using WSO Pro makes it so that people can't actually view your sales page, though....is that the point?....
3) I've come across so many WSO's that are eBooks or Manuals, but nowhere in the WSO do I see pictures/front cover graphics of the book that is being sold....chock it off to being a newbie, but wouldn't it discourage some to buy if they don't even see a picture of the product? (I know...it's digital....but, should effort be made to at least show an eBook cover....?)
4) Can "Special" mean more than just a price drop? Ideally, that would be best, however, I could also view "Special" as meaning that the product is being released exclusively to the Warrior forum, BEFORE one's own list is activated....thus, making it "Special" because Warriors have first dibs at it.....

(lol....no need to answer all of them....i know i threw alot of questions out there....)

For me, I treat the WSO as the sales page... it's one less click for the buyer, which means the buying process is quicker.

I use it for tracking conversion rates, digital delivery and limited offers.

Worth testing, for some, a WSO is a test of whether the product will sell before releasing to the general public - some use the WSO as a way of raising the cash for a full design (incl ecover) so this could account for why some don't have them

    4) Can "Special" mean more than just a price drop? Ideally, that would be best, however, I could also view "Special" as meaning that the product is being released exclusively to the Warrior forum, BEFORE one's own list is activated....thus, making it "Special" because Warriors have first dibs at it.....
Essentially, as long as Warriors are getting a better deal than the public at large (your list are not considered "the public at large" when it comes to this - then the WSO is special.

Ultimately, the buyers will do the talking - with the right approach (to value and great service) there's every reason that a WSO would be successful - and it's a very cheap way to test your offer.

I know it's intimidating to start with but if you make sure your WSO is -

    - Yours
    - Special

    You won't go far wrong

i'm sure some may have the same questions...

    1) Should a WSO be a direct cut and past of one's sales page/sales copy?....i've seen some people direct others to a sales page, while others just have a button to purchase that links strait to a PayPal/eJunkie payment screen....
There's no hard and fast rule on this one. You're free to provide a link off to a separate sales page or to include a link direct to PayPal or wherever to purchase.

A couple of key things to bear in mind though -

    - The offer has to be special. Just linking to a regular sales page will get you in trouble. "It's not a buy my product forum, it's a special offer forum".
    - However you sell it must be obvious how to collect. A couple of years ago people were happy to post receipt numbers in the forum thread and have you deliver it later. But with the amount of options for instant digital delivery the pressure is really on you to make sure they get their new toys ASAP or to explicitly set the expectation otherwise.

    2) I've seen some use a "WSO Pro"....would you recommend it for people interested in running a WSO?....it appears like using WSO Pro makes it so that people can't actually view your sales page, though....is that the point?....
I've not used it so can't really comment. In the absence of other methods of digital delivery this would be a good one to go with though.

    3) I've come across so many WSO's that are eBooks or Manuals, but nowhere in the WSO do I see pictures/front cover graphics of the book that is being sold....chock it off to being a newbie, but wouldn't it discourage some to buy if they don't even see a picture of the product? Definitely. The same "rules" of selling apply just as much to the WSO forum as to anywhere. The better, more professional, your WSO thread the better the results you'll see.

    4) Can "Special" mean more than just a price drop? Ideally, that would be best, however, I could also view "Special" as meaning that the product is being released exclusively to the Warrior forum, BEFORE one's own list is activated....thus, making it "Special" because Warriors have first dibs at it.....
This is obviously just my interpretation and experience ...

Special means it has to be genuinely special. That doesn't necessarily mean a price reduction. It could include special bonuses not generally available. It could be letting people have early access to something where there is a real benefit to having it sooner.

But just offering your product a couple of weeks early before throwing open the doors to the rest of the world isn't particularly special unless there is some key reason they'd want to get in early.

    Hope some of that helps,

    Andy

I make the WSO the sales page - don't make people jump through a hoop with clicking.

I also find that a natural confidence will exude from the WSO if it is genuinely their own product and they believe in/know the method works. Empty sales rhetoric is easy enough to spot and filter out.

As for the ebook/product picture, it can help, but then again a lot of people filter out that "chaff" - I certainly do, as its obvious a pretty picture is just that and it won't fool many IM'ers. Out in the wild on your $10 ebook yes it might convince joe public to buy, but I'm not convinced it helps here, as people know the score and are looking for the underlying quality of the information and what it will do for them financially.

Thank you guys, so much, for all your responses!

      lol....and, yet another question....

      5) I know WSOs are suppose to be special to just Warrior members....can a link to the WSO be promoted and placed, perhaps, in a Press Release for distribution? (Would that be against the sules?)

I think this is a false belief. WSOs are available for non members to purchase.

        2. A Warrior Special Offer Means The Price You Give Must Be Better Than The Price The Public At Large Can Get. (This is not a "buy my product" forum, it is a "Special Offer" forum
This is a direct quote from the WSO rules - however I personally think you would struggle to find many of the products offered anywhere else at any price - the same or higher.

I realise this is a controversial comment, but I do think that many products are written solely for sale in this section and are not "special offers" at all.

....I may have a faulty undertanding or perception of WSOs, but, it would seem to me, that they are more of a testing ground before officially launching a product.....just to basically see how products are welcomed by the IM community....

of course, I've seen people do interesting things with trying to instill a sense of scarcity....

I have never posted a WSO before....but, I sure have learned a heck-of-alot just by spending quite some time surveying the forum, different offers and different tactics.....

...it's enough to make a newbies head spin sometimes.....

...is it still "Special" if one is to say something like....

          0-100 Warrior Purchase = $XXXX
          100-200 Warrior Purchases = $XXXX (price increase)
          200-500 Warrior Purchases = $XXXX (price increase)

Would something like THAT be acceptable as a WSO?.....(I've seen similar strategies posted....)

Can HTML be used in a WSO, to make it look JUST like the sales page? (images? earnings screenshots? testimonials?)

"For myself, after many things I've heard and read from its users, I would stay well away from it - personal opinion only, obviously. Note that it's a privately owned service (in spite of the name) and has no formal or official connection with the Warrior Forum at all."

.....it would seem like its a bit of a collaboration between the developer and 'Allen'.....having it is suppose to be very highly recommended, so much so that there are quite a few advantages that make one feel 'left out' if they don't use it....

    Things like:
JV with the Warrior Forum - Allen will promote select WSOs for 50/50 split
JV with WarriorPlus - Like the JV above, WarriorPlus will promote your WSO for 50/50 split. Make more sales!

....with a forum with 150,000 some members, even having a possible opportunity to be promoted by 'Allen' would seem to be very beneficial.....

I haven't seen a WarriorPro JV on the Warrior Forum for quite some time.

Also, there have been a few days in the recent past when WarriorPro was acting very buggy - for several hours at a time the entire site was MIA, including the "buy" buttons. One episode lasted most of a day.

Outages happen. It's very frustrating when you've spent days or weeks working on a product, did a build-up to your list, then finally did your launch only to find out that the visitors can't buy.

I like the features, but it's not the only way to achieve the same results (other than the JV's, which again seem to be a thing of the past).
