Default Estimating eBay item sales from feedback count?

Excuse me if this a dumb question , I am new to eBay. What would be a good estimate of how well someones else's item sells from the feedback count? What multiplier to use (feedback count * X)? I suppose many buyers don't leave any feedback comments.

Update: Of course, feedbacks first would need to be filtered to not count other items. I see the problem can be with determining the feedback count for older sales (but same product), because the item name in feedbacks is not displayed if it's older than 90 days ("Detailed item information is not available for the following items because the Feedback is over 90 days old.")

Thanks,
Gustavs

Do you mean the number of items they have sold or the price they sell them at? You can go into Goofbay - eBay Tools, eBay Misspellings, eBay Typos, eBay Sniper, eBay Bargains and look up a seller and get some of the selling information. I'm not 100% sure of what you are asking.

You can also go into completed items and see what they have recently sold

Due to my hatred of PayPal.....I gave up my Ebay powerseller status and will never again give Ebay or PayPal a dime of my money.

But with that said.....I still exploit Ebay for personal gain without giving them one cent of my money.

One of the greatest ways to use Ebay if to determine TRUE market value for just about anything:

1. Simply to go to the advanced search feature: punch in an item you're interested in selling....and hit "completed auctions."

2. You will get a wealth of information that's beyond valuable. Because you will quickly determine what your widget is "worth" to the mass market.

Because as I always say...it's only worth...what Dick or Jane Jones....will PAY FOR IT. Period. End of story. The completed auction feature tells you what they PAID FOR IT. Neat.

If you think your baseball card is worth $50,000 just cuz some book tells you so.......that's fine. But before you quit your day job....run it through the formula just mentioned.

Cuz if you apply the formula above and determine that the same rookie card you think is worth a mint..... sells over and over and over for apx $50 bucks on Ebay......guess what?????

Your card is worth $50 bucks!!!!!!!!!! Sorry.

Before anyone decides to go out and buy a product for resale....I'd suggest taking five minutes to run it through the Ebay Advanced Search Completed Listing feature. You might be suprised with the results...might save you a lot of money too!

If PayPal and Ebay go to hell...I hope they come back in the next lifetime...so they can burn in hell a second time!
