Well, after beating my head against rocks all week and working my a** off on my blog and reading everything I can possibly read here, I thought, "Self, it's time to just focus on one thing at a time and achieve one goal per day." So that's the route I took. Yesterday, I cleaned off my jewelers bench and in 15 minutes, whipped up the design sketch for a bracelet on my jewelry site. I sat down with my tools and in a little under 2 hours, I fabricated the finished piece. Took a few pics, threw it up on my site and presto chango....this evening I had a nice fat payment for $130 from a random browser on the site. How's THAT for working smart? LOL. At least I have a skill to fall back on if I'm a dismal failure at internet marketing. ![]() In any event, we don't all possess the same skills. If you're burned out doing what you're currently doing, take a break, and do something you really love and takes less stressful energy to accomplish. Within the first 10 mins of pencil on paper, I had a momentum building and it felt good to be successful in an arena I know well. The lesson here is that no matter what you do, we all have unique skills and talents. Don't forget them in search of a few quick/easy bucks...sometimes, the money just comes to you when you least expect it. Cheers, Fellow Warriors.... ~D. |

Danielle, thats really cool, congrats!. Now just think - if you can design a little piece quickly and sell it for $130 then you can also design a bigger piece and sell it for $1300!!!

Thanks everyone for the replies... Gene, thank you for the compliment on the blog...My strat has been to post as much "free" quality info as possible so I could establish my voice in the niche as informative and up front about the things that working artists are doing to reach end game- selling your jewelry profitably. Soooo, with that in mind, when I finally get further down the list of goals, I can launch a small product and see how it works out. By that time, I should have established a good solid rapport with my readers for shooting straight from the hip and not BS'ing at all. I finally got the autoresponder figured out for the most part I think, so now my next goal is to get the freebie photo'd and written out as a downloadable link and then I can work on capturing a mailing list. Moving right along...chugga chugga! ![]() ~D. |

That's great Danielle...Yes people do have a tendency to try to take on too many tasks at one time. Thanks everyone for the positive support. Here's hoping a good affiliate for -handcrafted- jewelry finally makes an appearance on the net. They are painfully lacking. /sigh ~D. |

I'm with you on this! I feel thankful I have a skill (writing) to fall back on, too. I finally achieved enough balance to be able to pull in money with writing and allow myself time to work on internet marketing. Congrats on your success. |

| Hi Danielle, Congratulations! Excellent news and make sure you add it into your “Success” swipe file along with Vince's thread. Grab a free copy of his short bonus report in that thread. If the link doesn't work, just do a copy and paste...) Continued success... Dave |

Dave, I tried clicking the link and then cutting and pasting the link but neither option worked. ![]() And what the heck is a swipe file? ![]() ~D, who apparently still has lots more to learn! |

That's weird that a copy and paste didn't work. Make sure you include the full url etc. If it still doesn't work use the search function on the warrior forum and enter a few of the words in that link like Vince 3,000 post etc. etc. And for your Free marketing lesson of the day... ![]() Why You Should Start a Swipe File Today (hope that one works!) Shay, replied, thank you! Dave, Well, to be honest, I'd be happy with any and every avenue at this point. I joined one of the affiliate places to see what I could find by way of something that would work on my blog with my reader niche...you know, they won't click on stuff that's mass produced jewelry in factories and such...they're making the real deal, so that's pointless. I found one metals distributor that works in my niche, but that's about it. So I'm kind of at a loss. And thank you for the info on the swipe file, that's great. I never thought to do that. I've been looking for the thread I started about how to convert text to a PDF file forever now. LOL. And if anyone is still reading my blather, here's my next question. I'm working really hard on a eGuide for my readers on something they're all desperate for. How do I go about getting reviews for it before setting it out there? I'd like to be sure that what I've put together is of good content/quality and I'm unsure who to solicit to get that info. Do I offer it to a few chosen readers at the site? Do I give it to someone here? Thank YOU! ~D. |

I sent you a PM with some affiliate ideas. Regarding your eGuide, you could post a new thread for a few expert multi-niche warrior reviewers or another excellent resource to consider for your niche for multiple possibilities and ideas... http://www.boardtracker.com/search/?...cat=1&filter=1 Dave |

I seriously applaud you for actually creating a product that someone wants to buy and selling it to them. Not enough people like you are why the US economy is in the place it's in now. A healthy economy grows by producing and saving, not consuming and borrowing. The same goes on the micro level as the macro. Now go read " You'll be much happier in the end owning a handcrafted jewelry business, making something real, selling something of value to real satisfied customers, than building nothing for your children spending your time selling some IMer's book on affiliate marketing to a new internet user. |

*blush* You flatter me. I work in the niche that I'm in because that's what I hard and fast KNOW. I know that just like myself, there's really talented and credible artists who, for whatever reason, may not ever get a chance at the big time going through conventional routes, i.e. galleries, museums, etc. Why turn yourself into a stereo typical, starving artist, Vincent Van Gogh type who only gets kudos after you're long gone? My motto is that YOU are your best ally, your strongest marketer, the person who knows and believes in your product the most of anyone. Unfortunately, the odds can seem insurmountable after a while, so we all need a reminder how to get off our butts and go sell our product. I also know I'll never be happy working for someone else or be the most successful person I can under someone else's wonderful idea of a business. I'm smarter than that, and I have a husband who believes fully in the reality of what once was the American Dream and he encourages me daily to go out and make it mine. ![]() Call me naive but I'm gonna give it my best shot and help others along the way. ![]() ~D. | |
