How accurate is EstiBot? Have I hit a Gold Mine!?

I feel like I've hit a goldmine!!! ... but I'm skeptical.

I just found a group of .com domains by searching a popular product in a .com checker.

10 out of the 30 domains I checked are AVAILABLE. These are premium, letter-for-letter keywords that Google Keyword reports as having over 500,000 exact searches per month.

I went to Estibot.com and typed in the available domain names. Here's where I was shocked.
It showed traffic for these keywords through the roof, and it estimated the domains at the following prices:

$690, $530, $940, $2300, $4400 (!!!)

Not only that, but there are 5 others that I've yet to even plug in!

What would you do? Is the hype undeserved, or did I really just stumble upon something big?

I would also like to add that convincing my fiance to let me use our money to buy some of these domain names would be very, very hard. If you think they really are worth their value, help me figure out a way to convince her She does not know much about domain name value...

and in the past I bought some stupid domain names thinking they would sell but they are gathering dust.

Only recently have I discovered using POPULAR KEYWORDS in my search for .coms, and now I discovered these untouched beasts!

I just found another highly searched 3-character domain name -- but it's .org... but Estibot values this one at $9,800!!! ...

Starting to think Estibot is not seeing something critical -- why wouldn't this be taken if it was true !?

That's a bummer! I got really excited about the idea!

      ... ...

But these keywords REALLY ARE getting immense traffic ... I mean, numbers don't lie, right? If these keywords get 500,000 a month and I optimized to get 1st page, wouldn't I be able to make some money off of them?

Yes you would, but unfortunatly buying a domain with the keywords in and optimising the page wont get you to the first page, sorry if this stings a bit !!!

There are 100s of other factors you would have to contend to get your sites to page 1, also depends on the competition of the keywords too i suppose !

Well, the product is a couple years old so I doubt I'd be able to reach page 1 with these domain names.

But they have a new product coming out soon, and perhaps if started now the site would be firmly page 1 by the date of its public released, filled with affiliate links =P

Update: Someone on another forum said they would have Trademark issues if it's the name of a product.

5 of these are the exact product name. 5 aren't the product name, so I doubt they are trademarked - they are just popular search terms relating to that product

That would be the reason they are available.

You would most likely lose them if you buy them and try to use them. Trademark holders are required to take steps to protect their trademark or they risk losing the trademark protection.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Are they product domains, i.e: samsungtv.com or are they keywords completely free of copyrighted terms?

3 letter .org? didnt know any was still available.

Have you tried to register? if not you should, it may be that your whois source is not working.

Goldmines nowadays are rare, 10 + 3 letter .org... Very Rare

Let me know how it goes.

I'd buy'em and flip one of'em... odds are you won't get high rankings for them, but if you attach screenshots of your traffic findings in the copy, then someone may bite in an auction.

To be honest it's much better to visit NamePros.com and/or DNForum.com, browse the sales (and discussion) sections, and get an idea of domain values that way.

I've been into domaining for a few years now and have never used EstiBot much since learning how to value domain's yourself will always be more accurate (albeit a bit time consuming)

I've got domains that are not trademark infringements that Estibot says are worth thousands. They've been listed for sale on Sedo for a couple of years with ZERO interest in them. So take the Estibot estimate for what it's worth ... which is not much.
