This is the Squeeze Page layout that works for me like a charm.

I'm always testing new things but this is the layout that really works for me..

..on a side note: i use this layout mainly for selling "services", not products - but i think, you'll get the point:

  • i always end my headline with a question.
  • when i list the benefits, i actually say "these are your benefits".
  • i use a video to further explain my services.
  • i offer a free [whatever] ABOVE THE FOLD.

That's nice on paper, but it seems that Squeeze pages always have too many words to say. Companies don't trust in their customers' ability to pick out the cream from the crap, therefore they try to fit in more testamonials, more hype, more 'benefits', and thus adds up to more scrollbar!

That's not only nice on paper, but it works (for me).. i keep it VERY simple, i list the benefits and i use plenty of whitespace. Less hype - just facts - one option.

As a company owner, i don't want to work with idiot customers. I don't wanna convince all the sheep out there, i rather want to work with those customers who realize the benefits of my services.

regarding conversion rates, i have to tell you my technique.. which is this:

i offer a service (let's just say seo).

i target local companies by sending direct mail sales letters.. with a call to action at the end ("visit mywebsite.com" to learn more)

from 50 direct letters i get about 20 potential customers, opting in for the free report, which usually leads to 3-5 paying clients.

Thanks for sharing! I like your philosophy. I've been targeting local businesses for a small range of services as well. Mind if I ask about the mailing? If you don't want to give away too much, I understand. But I'd love to learn more about the mailing, as I've been trying a similar sales strategy, but my conversion ratios started out great, then dipped since November.

Can always PM as well if you don't want to give out too much publicly. Again I thank you for your generosity.
