Ezine Articles Problem Article - The Kiss of Death?

I recently started an article marketing campaign and a couple of my articles have shown up as "Problem Articles", and they don't give a reason, just say to contact them.

I have seen this before, and whenever i contact them i never seem to hear back from them.

Is the "Problem Article" reason basically the "Kiss of Death" to that article, meaning that your article is so bad or so against our TOS, that were banishing it to our inbox of emails we never respond to?

Anyone else ever get these?

Welcome to EZA. Now they may take forever to respond, but apparently they do. You will just have to wait it out, and of course, that is likely what they want you to do anyways.

(I mean their editors are SOO helpful! )

In the meantime try and submit other articles and get them passed through while you are waiting for the feedback on these articles.

Also if you have seen any of the recent posts on the warrior forum regarding EZA you may have already come across some of the main reasons why your article was put into that kind of problem status.

I would pull the links for you (click here and possibly click here too) , but I'm not in that mood today , the search function works well too. You may also want to talk to "WealthWinners", another warrior, who has also recently encountered the same issue.

Very True...I read through some of those posts you included and i think i see what my problem is

They don't seem to like the words "Truth", "Secrets", "Exposed", or "Shocking" in the title, for whatever reason.

In addition to this, I think that im not really telling what it is im promoting, I'm trying to gain the click from the visitor by saying "click here to learn about..." and so forth...

What would be the 2nd choice for article submission...If I can't get them approved here, I'm sure I can find someone to approve them

If your body text MATCHES your title, then those words are fine. If your title is extremely overdone with those types of words, however, and nothing of the sorts can be found in your body text, then it's just natural to expect someone to notice that!

They are now rejecting articles on that basis, and all you need to do is change your title so that it matches your body text, (or if you are less lazy) change your body text to match these "outrageous" sounding titles, so that the text actually does answer/discuss the title in question.

As for your transition into your author box, the "click here" part is supposed to be in your author box, not the article itself. They allow that on other directories at times, but other directories also come with issues you will have to overcome as well, such as submission limits, decreased traffic, spam & bots, as well as a low CTR.

But of course those can also depend on your article marketing techniques, but if you cannot master EZA, I suspect that you will do poorly with other article directories. EZA may seem harsh right now, but any time you are using someone else's website for your own personal gain, you will ALWAYS have to play by their rules.

And finally, those words ARE allowed in the title, as long as the article text delivers on what the title promises. If you say the truth is exposed, list what the truth is in the article. If you say it's a secret, it better not be some general detail which any fool could find anywhere easily.

Become an effective writer, and you will become a better marketer. I had also explained to another warrior, that ACTUALLY GIVING AWAY tips is not a bad thing. Actually answering a question is not a bad thing.

All you need to do in your author box is suggest that you have the ENTIRE solution to their problem, and that the answers you gave were not all of their solution. This will prompt them to want to click on your link, because you have already gained their trust by giving them some REAL information, but you have also built up their curiosity by not giving ALL of the information.

Wow, excellent reply! Do you Work for them? Haha, JK. Im beggining to see what you mean by "meaning what you say" in the title. Im gonna rearrange my title structure or just add the keywords. Most of the time I believe I do include the keyword in the title in the text, usually in the first paragraph.

I know all about the anchor text rules, I never use more then 2 words. Ive been linking to my page with the anchor text, "Click Here" which i know doesn't help for SEO, but im looking to get people to my page more than anything else.

Im gonna change up my articles and see how it goes.

Using the phrase "click here" is ALLOWED as long as that is INSIDE your author box. You are allowed to encourage people to click your link, if used as the anchor text itself, and if you were to look around EZA at other popular articles, you may see it is allowed and used frequently.

It's not difficult to match your title to your body text, you are just not used to doing it, by the sounds of it. Don't worry about your author box, because that has ALREADY been approved, right?

Therefore, it's something to do with EITHER your title or your article, or both in context. Since I am quite sure that you have not used any offensive phrases or text *(such as things which are too sexually suggestive or explicit), and that you have also made sure the grammar and spelling are all perfect....the only other two things which are left are:

            #1: Derivative content
#2: Title does not match the article

Since #1 is not the kind of notice you will get frequently, and since your articles have previously been approved, I don't believe it's #1, which is why I reason that it must be #2. #2 is becoming a rather common issue for some, whether they admit it or not, and it's not a big deal as long as you make sure your title describes the content directly.

I'm trying to gain the click from the visitor by saying "click here to learn about..." and so forth...QUOTE]

If you are using anchor text such as,

--they will reject your article every time. You can only have a total of 5 words of anchor text in your resource box. So if you have two links in your box, you could have one with 2 words and one with 3. If there are no other problems, and you cut your anchor text down to a total of 5 words and re-submit, your article will likely get approved in a day or two. --Mike

Nah, it's not the kiss of death, just review the TOS, change the article and re-submit if you can. If not, contact them and get it straightened out.

I FINALLY just reached Platinum status after like 200 articles, so I've made my share of hiccups with EZA. I basically learned the TOS by breaking them so many times!

I have had articles pulled up but I contacted them and they explained the reasons, I think it was for using too many keywords (perhaps), and EZA do get criticised for being too strict guidelines, but this just goes in your favour when your articles do get accepted.

If you submit enough there you soon learn when you are bending the rules and what may or may not get accepted.

I know EZA Is the one of the best article directories out there, but I can't stand there system. I don't post my articles there anymore. The process is just to darn slow for me.

I had the same problem, bt, and when I asked them about it, they answered that it might be my browser. I doubted that, since I never had that problem before in submitting articles.

However, I used the computer at my local library and had no problem at all in accessing the article submission form. I wrote another article, submitted it right then and there. The article was accepted today.

You might also want to try using a library computer. Just a suggestion.....and good luck.

They are EXTREMELY fast if you are a paid member...In fact your articles will go through the same day you submit them, as long as you submit them on a weekday.

Their membership is also not cheap, however. Therefore it's extremely biased towards the "big shots" and big players, who can make them the MOST money.

Smaller players, like the OP and others, who seem to experience many issues, remind me of the old classification system for people before the industrial revolution.

There were the poor, the middle class, and the rich. Historically speaking, the middle class always had it very bad, because they were neither poor nor rich, but were always heavily taxed and many other things because they at least made money.

The poor on the other hand were irrelevant, since they didn't have any money to invest, therefore wouldn't be using any "services" in the first place. BUT, the rich however, were given favor, since they had money to invest, money to spend and money to burn.

The EZA system reminds me EXACTLY of this, wherein the favors are given to the "wealthy", and the "middle class" are the one's who are getting the shaft.

NY1 is correct. I posted about that you could only have 5 total words in your links, but as was pointed out that is incorrect. Sorry.

I looked for that, in the TOS, to cite the exact source, and was unable to find those exact words of "self promotion", was I looking in the wrong place?

I was personally banned for that once, and wasn't even as ballsy as to include a website outside of the forum to promote directly. So I know how that goes, because I learned the definite way...

but could you show me the link to that anyways, please?

It seems the rules where edited drastically, wow they have been cut down from like a whole page to 2 post.

I also was banned for that when I did not actually do it, so as far as I am concerned until otherwise told, self promotion is not allowed.

Yup, I find it weird that the rules here are not shown. That is difficult to enforce, and also a good excuse for anyone to say but oh "i didn't see that mentioned anywhere, me so innocent! pleash don't harm me, cuz i didn't know, cuz it wasn't written anywherez".

Why is this forum changing so much, in a way that is not always beneficial? I'm not sure how removing the rules is beneficial to people? Or having hidden rules is beneficial?

typically when you get this kind of response you are promoting a product that they do not allow on your site or maybe a affiliate link or something like that. Good luck

  • Hi,

Well this is my first day here. Talking about EZA, it is one of the best websites i have come across. Yes, at times the articles show up as problem articles but it happens when their is a genuine problem. In fact, whenever i have contacted their editors, to my surprise i got a fast reply explaining the reasons.

Editors on EZA are extremely helpful. Try and match the words or the meaning of your title with the content of the article. Also, less links in article body for promotion is advisable.

You can edit your article and re submit it

Sometimes articles are flagged by new editors who misinterpret the TOS. Try changing a word or two and resubmit if there really isn't anything wrong with it.

I must say I've always had a response from EZA when it comes to problem articles & its usually been due to too many keywords in the article body.

However lately you can't actually submit an article before it passes the keyword test so it could be to do with something like the article not delivering what the title suggests.

Also a "problem article" is not as bad as an "account suspended" notice so it should be relatively easy to sort out.

I've had to contact them a few times about problem articles, most of the time it has been about some random small line in their code of conduct. One example which sticks out in my mind is not using "Coca-Cola or Coke" in an article that was a review of a restaurant. Another time, they put it in problem status as a mistake.

I've always been able to get my articles approved after contacting them.

It has however, eliminated me from being approved for platinum status each time that I had a problem article. Just be ready to have to send in another 25 submissions to be considered once again.
