Facebook now BIGGER than Google?

I recently read in the news that Facebook now gets more traffic than Google. Wow, Facebook really is some success story.

How about making some friendly wagers on how long Facebook will last, before it's downfall will come?

I know it sounds impossible now, but look what happened to Myspace. I guess all networking sites like these have a lifespan...

I think real success is somewhere else then traffic numbers. Compare EBITDA of these companies, that is what counts in business life.

actually you're right but FB had to climb high just to meet on the same level as Google has a steady reputation. Can FB hang with G, only time will tell. I saw a graph somewhere.

Who cares? Google has a whole different target market than Facebook. The majority of Facebook users just want to socialize with their people. Google searchers are looking for something, not social. They aren't actively seeking out a product or a solution. I know a lot of people... over a 1,000 friends that wouldn't touch an advertisement.

I think facebook and other social sites will be the way of the future to a certain extent....

I think they have become search engines themselves, due to searching for groups to join and offering PPC advertising.

Facebook will go from strength to strength in my opinion...

Well I hope anyway or I will feel really dumb... haha

          Take Care.

The nice thing about twitter is that you have to look at other peoples posts while you write your own...Genius!

Everything, literally everything on this world has a lifespan.

I've never really 'got it' at Facebook. Do have some pages and a profile up there, but don't do much with it. It's to much focussed on apps and features, as opposed to plainly sharing information - a la Twitter.

I think FaceBook will only go down from this point on and will be vanished in a year or two.

    But that's just my opinion.

I think MySpace and FaceBook have a difference. When MySpace was introduced, internet users from every part of the world were not into social networking. Now, FB is filled with people from all over the world. It is hard to completely wipe off such huge reputation. However, their popularity may increase or decrease in the coming years.

Facebook is as much a success as youtube. Facebook is losing money every month. Sure they get revenue, but no profits as of yet. Look at YouTube, they are burning through like $1 million each months.

    Happy days

How is it possible for these 2 huge companies to still operate at a loss?

Google will eventually make a Facebook killer I presume. Or buy Facebook.
