Your product review is not good if you are presenting it as a public speaker that is just making a boring speech to an already bored audience.

Your product review should look like an interview, a dialogue, or conversation between two or more people, such as a heartwarming conversation between a "guru" and a "newbie". For example, if you are promoting a new mobile phone in town and you want to write a product review on the product, it has to be in this form:

What is the name of the mobile phone?

The name is Kingshiloh Smartphone. It is the first of its kind in mobile phone technology industry across the globe.

When was it launched?

It was launched on the 24th day of March...

What I just gave you is an example and I hope you understand what I mean.

    I disagree. There are plenty of ways to write a good review -- it certainly doesn't have to be in the form you provided.

    Indeed, you can create a conversational style review without actually breaking it up into a question and answer dialogue. My feeling is that breaking it up like that puts the reader "outside" the conversation. On the other hand, if I write directly to the reader, it keeps the reader "inside" the conversation -- and thus the article connects with the reader better.

    Question and answer like a guru to a newbie = the reader may feel like he's merely eavesdropping on a conversation, but he's not a part of it.

    Writing directly to the reader = the reader becomes a part of the conversation, and thus reacts better to what's being said.

    That's my opinion, of course. However, I strongly disagree with your statement about how a review must be in the form you provided.

    Based on my experience the "form" (so to speak) of the review is not nearly as important as the flow and quality. In my opinion the #1 mistake that newbies make is not the form of their review, but the fact that they often times hype a product to the sky.

    If you talk about the product you are promoting as being the latest and greatest thing you are likely not going to have much success, regardless of the niche. Remember that the purpose of a review is to give a product a positive spin (assuming it is actually a good product) and warm the reader to the prospect of buying from you.

    Let the sales page do the selling

      When writing a review, put yourselves in the position of the reader.

      What is the reader looking to solve?
      How does the product you're discussing address this?
      Why should they believe you?
      What other alternatives are there?
      How do they compare?
      Provide an unbiased recommendation
      Encourage the reader to investigate further based on the information (Quality articles) YOU have provided

        This is actually really good advice. I fell that many affiliate marketers sometimes forget that on the other side of reviews there are real people who are reading this review, and in the process they are trying to make a purchasing decision.

        You really need to put yourself in the position of a potential customers. What would you have to see to persuade you to buy a particular product?

          Sorry, but that is absolutely ridiculous. That is ONE way to present a review, and I cannot think of a single valid reason why it would be a particularly good way.

          The two most important factors in reader acceptance of a review are:

          1)Prior credibility of the reviewer

          2)The reviewer mentioning a credible balance of strong and weak points

          In my opinion, a conversational tone probably works best across the board in product reviews, but this partly depends on the setting, the expectations of the readers and who the audience is in a particular case.
