When Or Why Would You Advise Someone to Quit IM?

Honestly, if I discover that you are in IM just because you are looking for a quick fix solution to your poverty, I will advise you to look elsewhere especially if you have no skills to offer any service because there is no "magic button" that does that.

In addition, if I discover that you are into IM but a little thing gets on your nerves, I will advise you to look elsewhere because IM requires patience, perseverance, endurance...

Finally, if I discover that you are not enjoying the business, I will say QUIT!

I'm sorry if the advice is harsh but that's how I feel.

Then, when or why would you advise someone to quit IM?

I feel like IM is so diverse there are all kinds of ways someone can be involved. So even if you aren't enjoying what you are doing now, there may be another approach that would better suit you.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Not everybody in life has the choice to do anything they want to do. To pay their bills some folks have to do what-ever is neccessary.

Even if you don't enjoy it, sitting in front of a computer is more easier then the back breaking work some folks have to do.

Without being being disresptful in any way I would have thought someone from Nigeria would be more aware.

I would never tell someone to quit, I would work with them and help them find a method or IM market that more suits their tastes and beliefs, quit is a nasty 4 letter word shame on you!!

For some people, they're going to be a lot happier if they do quit.

Some people just want a paycheck whether or not they do their best work. I know a few people who've gone back to the world of being employed and like it better. They find it less stressful... and it works for them.

Let's be honest, not everyone has the chops for this kind of work - it can be highly stressful at times - personally, I'd never trade it, but for others, they'll be happier working for someone else.

I do not agree with most of your statement (no offense intended), you can be an IMer without ever having to touch your keyboard other than to outsource all your work and make clicks to send emails from your autoresponder (and I am being generous, you can be successful in IM and do fewer work than that)

have you seen the amount of products IMers like Ian del Carmen have out there, do you think he lift a finger to get ALL those created?

I don't really agree with the OP on this.. because in reality all of us wanted to make money in IM which is why im sure the majority of us are reading the Warrior Forum now.

Sure, some have better tactics than the other but still that shouldnt be a reason to quit IM.

Maybe if you using it for a black hat method that is illegal in all sorts then yes I would advise those people to quit IM

Quitting is never on my vocabulary. I have been turned down many times before. But I did not gave up. Once I see a person who needs motivation, I'll help him. No one can ever say what other person can or cannot do. Just the fact that he tried to start is enough for a reason to help him out.

Unless I saw that they hated, I mean really hated it, like they grind their teeth at the the thought of IM, I wouldn't tell anyone to give up. I think that goes with anything someone wants to do or accomplish, not just IM.

Wow, that old "Q" word really gets people fired up.

Maybe King was using a little reverse psychology?

I wouldn't tell people what to do for the mere fact that I don't like being told myself.

I think the best reason to tell someone to quit is if they are the #1 competitor in your Niche. I would always advise they turn over their logins, sites, and content to me, because they are just wasting their time.

I would never tell someone to quit IM just as I would not tell someone to quit their 9-5 job. I think it's so much easier for folks to put immediate hopes for financial overflow on IM because of it's potential that is quite obvious. But I wonder why nobody goes to their boss and demand a $100,000/year salary or more or they will quit but when it comes to working for yourself, it has to be all or nothing. This is what I don't get.

I can honestly say that if I don't see an overflow of profits soon, I still won't quit IM because of the simple fact that I have held on to my job because it paid the bills so I will hold on to IM because it can do more than pay the bills if I grind for it like I should.

I think the only reason someone would want to quit IM for a regular job is because in internet marketing, we have to grind. We can't pretend to be working just so the boss won't know what we really do for a few hours of the workday, we can't half assed do a job because it's just about time to clockout. In IM we have to grind for it or lose out.

I say, create an alter ego and pretend that person is your boss. When this person says, write an 400-500 word article, then get to work. When this person says, go and comment on some blogs, then get to work. Before you know it, you will have psyched yourself into success in IM just as we have been psyched into the JOB mentality. It's almost as if some of us do not want total control over our financial situation. I am the same boat as I have BSed around so much that it's not even funny.
