Recent trends in marketing and a few questions!!
Hey guys, this is my first post here. So I'm getting ready to launch my website (or mini site) for an ebook that I've written, and I've been spending some time studying other sites and I have a few questions. First is that I'm noticing a trend from moving from traditional long form copy sales pages to these slide show type flash movies with the author narrating the slide show.

Seems like the videos last around 20 minutes or so. My question is, a lot of these slide shows look the same. How are they being made?
My second question is, is this more effective than traditional long form copy sales pages?
Another thing I'm noticing is the use of the word "weird" a LOT. What's the deal with that? Is that supposed to be some kind of effective marketing trick? They all use phrases like, "Everything changed when I stumbled on this one weird trick..." or "Watch this free weird video" and "how my results skyrocketed by just doing this one weird thing..."
Any thoughts on that?
