What are some video/youtube ideas?

My best friend in Tennessee is launching his own videography business. I wanted to get some ideas of what he could do to generate income. He has a few recurring clients, but, I wanted to help give him some ideas to grow his business more. It'd be cool if we could use some IM/Youtube to either increase his revenue, or increase his perceived value.

Thanks.

Jeremy

He can start a youtube channel doing videos on how to be a videographer. Just a thought. If he can establish himself as an expert online, he can sell his services easier, or even provide paid training on how to be a videographer. Just a thought!

That's good thinking. Lots can be done....lighting, editing, set design etc. to establish himself as a 'local for hire'...as long as he always drives home his contact info on the video series.

Great idea! Keep it simple, do some work for a local client and send it out through the youtube/traffice geyser methods. Increase action and velocity, you will win!

Does he like traveling? Shooting travel videos can be pretty lucrative. I know of one pretty low key marketer who loves traveling to targeted travel spots and shoots videos of the locale, hotels, things to do, the parties, meetups, etc. He posts short 2-3 minutes clips on youtube and get tons of views. He sends people to his site, gets them on a list, and sells them the travels videos & related products. He's doing VERY well for himself.

How bout wedding videos? Weddings are always a lucrative business, no? And if he can do it at a super competitive price compared to what most pro videographers are charging, it could work very well for him. Maybe even provide training on the entire process of shooting, editing, delivering the video to clients.

Absolutely agree with starting small. A you tube account specifically set up for this business with a channel that acts as a portfolio. Every video should be made and edited with great care and quality is paramount. Its no different to a graphic designer doing a portfolio to get a job or a big client. Great to have an online portfolio where he can promote the youtube link directly. With a bit of SEO the videos could be ranking for the right keywords to get attention too. the nice thing is that he can send the portfolio to friends on social networks and ask them to rate his videos and leave comments improving their rank.

Hi came here if I can contribute something. Try to use camtasia version 7 or its free. You can search in youtube free camtasia with serial.

Then if you are shy about your voice or if you don't have a good quality voice, try to use article video robot.

What article video robot is, it allows to convert your text to speech naturally.

That way you can share it to some video sharing sites like youtube, reverr, realpeoplerealstuff and other video sharing sites for free.

And you can have a good backlinks to your sites. That's another way to market in youtube. I tried already the article video robot. It's nice. Perfectly for those who shy away about there voice.

        Another thing before I forgot.

Try to dress up your profile in youtube. So that you get a lot of subscribers. What I mean try to customize it. Put a picture on it, put a description and the your URL link back to your site. You can also add your url twitter account, facebook account and linked account in youtube profile. It builds credibility.

Customize also the look an feel of your website like the color. I like black because it droves there eyes.

Every time you post your video in youtube, below on that link there is a social networking sites button page, try also to share it to have a wider exposure or search engine ranking.

Another youtube ideas that I used. I try to put a pc tv on my computer that way I can start recording those video that I like and post it to youtube and then put your url link so that you have a good quality backlink to your site.

Just make sure you put a courtesy warter mark on that video. Like example "courtesy of blah blah"

There you go! Have a nice day!

If I may suggest, you can tell him to grow his niche more. Videography industry can become pretty lucrative if the right marketing campaigns are implemented.

For instance, he can tap local businesses for video marketing services online (TrafficGeyser is of great help here), do SEO on the local wedding keywords, etc.

Possibilities are endless, just stick with what works and dont reinvent the wheel. I know its a cliche but they are what they are for a reason. Think $$

    Hope this helps.

I think I never reinvent the wheel it's you who reinvent the wheel. With your Expensive software. Your just promoting your traffic gyser. Now that's what you call reinvention.

      Just read the headline title...

Mine is not reinvent... its called CREATIVITY!

NEVER PUT YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET. Try to be creative. Coz I get creative sometimes.

go for a membership model, so offer businesses not one video (which is never enough to get rank) but one short video per month highlighting, offers or new products.

Charge a great rate but lock them into to getting videos monthly eg $147 a month or something, plus offer hosting at a per dollar a month rate for each video
