Google Globetrotting

Hey guys

I signed up to Google Adsense over 6 months ago for a new company I started. Since then, my adsense on the site has shown public service announcements as I was waiting for my pin via the post... I live in London

After 6 months of waiting, I finally received my pin this morning.

From Google california, I have received the letter which has the postmarks of Mountainview CA USA, Jamaica, and UAE (United Arab Emirates).

Now wonder it took 6 months, This letter has been halfway around the world !

    Hi,

    You need to have theme based enough content at your site to get actual adesense
    ads shown there... Public service ads are shown only when there is content which
    trigger no ad in Adwords...or user is from a location which is not targeted by the
    adword advterisers for that Niche.

    So two points:

    1. Know are the ads are being shown in USA or other top targetted countries...
    You can visit your site with USA proxy, or use Adsense Preview tool or ask some
    friend from the states to visit your site and take screen shot and send to you.

    2. Add enough content related to your Niche which have actual Adsense ads..
    No gains to have a site dedicated for Adsense where there are no ads for that Niche.

    It's cool, I have afew sites with adsense and there is more than enough keyword targeted content to get the relevant adsense showing up.

    Just so you know, if your payment methods aren't set up in you adsense back office, they will show Public Service ads no matter how targeted your content is.

    I was more surprised at the fact the letter had travelled half way around the world !

    Maybe they have implemented this in recent years..as when I setup account with them
    years ago... I remember even I had not received my PIN , i was getting clicks and
    earning money..and I also remember they sent me PIN only when i reached 50% of
    the payment threshold i.e.$50
    so maybe they have changed that now...thanks for updating me in this regard..
    BTW you sure about this , or it is your best guess?!
