Hosting a high traffic site

I've just been seriously burned by Media Temple's exceptionally useless customer service, and I need a Linux VPS solution for hosting a high-traffic account that's reliable, has full control panel access and offers backups, dedicated IPs, etc. By high traffic I'm talking 500,000 PVs a month and around 20Gb transfer/month.
I've done a search online, but mostly what comes up is people's useless affiliate link-laden 'review' sites, so some recommendations from you guys (without affiliate links ) would be great.

    They have tons of user reviews and webhost offer section.
