What converts better - Product comparison review or personal review?

Hi All,

I have a site thats getting more and more visitors each day. However it does not convert very well at all. Currently I am promoting the product using a personal experience approach, i.e I explain the problem, what I went through and then how I fixed it using this product. Users are clicking through to the CB product, however the conversion to a sale is very poor.

Is this this a good way of preselling? Or is it better to just have a review site rating 3 or 4 products?

Or alternatively, I am tempted to promote nothing and just offer a free report to download, get the clients email and in the PDF report promote several products with affiliate links. Additionally, I will promote products through an autoresponder series.

If they're clicking through to the product page, chances are your review is fine but the sales page isn't. If it was your review, you would see fewer clicks to the product.

You could try looking at the sales page and see if it's a problem that you can counter in your review. Like "the sales page is pretty boring but the product is tremendous", etc.
