Want to rent a page on my health related site?
Yes, I said rent a page.
I have a generic health related wordpress site (domain in screenshot attached), that gets spidered and pages indexed in less than an hour. (I have attached a screenshot of google indexing proof of a few posts i made on my blog-using site:domain parameter. Note this is not proof of ranking on page 1 of google. I haven't reached that stage yet, but I rank anywhere between page 1-5 depending on the page and its competition, etc.)
I was thinking, maybe I could optimize the site further and rent out pages on my site to folks who would like to promote their affiliate programs. A person could create a user account at my wordpress site, and create pages as they like (layout constrained by the theme of course), promoting their affiliate programs with a review page or whatever.
Advantage? They get real estate on a domain that gets spidered regularly. They could get backlinks to their page (without spamming of course), and bring their page to 1st page rankings quite easily. It is like submitting articles to ezinearticles.com - but with the advantage you can promote your product/affiliate product as you like - you can add images, reviews, blatantly promote your offer (legally and ethically) and I won't complain.
If it is an article people like to write, their bio can promote any affiliate link. I won't be snobbish about it. Heck, they can place affiliate links as much as they want inside their article, add pictures hyperlinked to the affiliate link, you get the idea. Everything is acceptable in this game.
They save on domain name and hosting. Site is hosted by my provider, and their pages reside on this server.
So what would I get out of this? I was thinking of charging a small fee, say, $5 per month for this(this amount is not for the space you get, but for me to wink at every wild thing you do to sell your wares - other than illegal, unethical, spammy methods that could ban my site), that would compensate me for hosting, bandwidth, and my frugal needs
Do you all think this could work? What will be the disadvantages? I am looking for some expert opinions here. Who knows, this could be the start of something quite innovative.
