      I will say.

      1. Don't change the title.

      2. Don't post another article to Ezine.

      3. Don't login or register with them ever again.

      4. Start a blog and put all your articles on there.

That still won't help the CTR.

I am now going to link you to a thread which discusses what is wrong with your article in detail (from your title, to the content, to your author box, even to your website itself)...

Click here to fix your article

It's a long thread, and there is a lot discussed in there, but it will give you an idea why your CTR is so bad, and will also tell you what to do in the future. I also suspect that even if you had more people clicking, that you would still have few people opting in, and that's because of the outlay of your website as well. I believe that is discussed too in the thread.

Really? Why would you not want to post articles somewhere other than your blog? Isn't the point of article marketing to get back links? You don't get back links from your own site do you?

I guess my real question from this post is this: Is it better to build up your site with content or use your article to generate back links?

To explain it in as little words as possible...

Why would you want to post your content elsewhere?

You may want to post your content EVERYWHERE. LOL, even if you are not the one doing it directly. Heck, why not?

Get it out there, make some damn sales, get the word out! Become a super affiliate, or super promoter! Or super anything.

Of course, I do get where you are coming from.

I agree they are useless and there are many other great places to share your content without all the links and adsense...

I have not posted an article ever since the admin in their own forum told someone that they can not post their own content to their own site first, they must post it to EZA first...

          1. I don't enter every thread to bash EZA

          2. Jealous ...LOL That's funny, I am debt free and very happy with my business just the way it is.. You have no idea what income I make.

          3. I have the right to my opinion just as much as you do. If you do not like that then there always is the "ignore" button.

          4. Your last statement just confirms to me that you do not understand "True Article Marketing" because your statement is not 100% correct.

To try and promote your own article directory?

Nowhere does EZA stipulate that you have to post there first.

Just cause you *say* they do, does not make it so.

Every article directory worth mentioning has ads on it, most of them like Article Alley, Articles Base, Articles Snatch, etc have just as much if not more advertising on their site.

LOL .... You just have no idea, not a clue and it is seriously funny how you have no clue .. :p

10 authors ..LOL Hey genius before you attack someone you do not even know learn how to do research, I have many members using "Other Tools" to make a full time income :p You probably buy some of their products created from my system and you do not even know it.. Now that's funny!

            3. Can't take the heat when your narrow minded views get questioned?

            4. Enlighten me. What is true article marketing? My articles get picked up and syndicated by authority sites all of the time. My sites rank in the top 5 for extremely competitive terms in extremely competitive niches.

But, I guess I don't know what true article marketing is.

Apparently, in a world of 6.5 billion people, only you know what true marketing is.

Must suck to be so great and have no one know about it but you.

By the way, marketing is all about getting exposure.

No one has ever heard of your directory or forum, so how can you be so good at marketing if you have no exposure?

I checked, you have maybe 10 authors that submit articles at a robust $ 10 per month membership and your forum had about 5 people that actually posted there.

            Where's the marketing genius?

Anyway, life is too short to argue with ignorant people. They scream the loudest but make no sense in the end.

So, I will bow out of this one and allow you to think that you really are such a big deal.

It bugs me, but shorter articles tend to get higher click-throughs
in my experience. I'd like to think lovingly-crafted 700-1200 word
articles would dazzle readers into clicking through, but I'm
starting to think most readers glaze-over before they reach the
    end.

So, try to stay right around 400 words. Promise 3 somethings in
the title. Give 'em in the article. Don't write like an idiot but don't
over-complicate it either. Do try to offer a little fresh perspective,
fact, tidbit or whatever, but don't get too far out with it.

Probably the best model for effective articles are "bathroom" mags -
if people want to buy or take action they want to invest less that
2 minutes in reading your article, feel a little more informed, click-through
    and buy.

That's the way I see it now, anyway.

Probably they were most of them other writers or outsourcers looking for content. It bugs me when I see traffic from EZA from India and Phillipines.

For me shorter articles work better. Clickbank seems to want more words now, because they want the article to be "info rich." I do the shortest I can get by with.

For me, click- thru works better if I don't finish the article. Leave them dangling a bit, or lead them up to a point, then say something like "Your next step is obviously this". (this is the link to your site)

Loren, I think you are right about readers "glazing over" with longer articles. I highlight the sentences I want them to be sure to read with bold type, so if they skim, they still get the pertinent info.

First things first, change your anchor text to something more enticing in accordance with the article title PLUS you need to do this in order to get some backlinks to a keyword you're trying to rank for. Free Newsletter is a throwaway anchor text IMHO.

    Here's a quick little variation I did.

This is the ONLY form of Cardio that matters!
Learn how to do it in less than 5 min at ... (website name)

It's not pretty but it should be somewhat more effective. In either case it's worth a shot. The entire purpose of the article is all about driving traffic through that resource box so everything you say should be lining them up so that they feel not clicking your link would be more difficult than just clicking it.

My average CTR is only about 20% of about 400 articles on there but I do have quite a few articles that do about 30-45% CTR, the best ones always having an anchor text that is of a keyword phrase which is EXACTLY the thing the person reading the article is looking for, its non-committal and will help them immediately. Of course the lead up to it is critical but the anchor text you choose is so important on so many levels.

I think Ezine is definitely worth putting articles on, you just need to do effective KW research before hand to see if you're trying to compete for a top page where there are other Ezines competing under the same KW. If so it will be exponentially harder to rank for that term.
