Monetize & Adsense Question

I have what is basically an article site - basically set on autopilot and used to quickly index other sites/pages I have in the same niche. Anyway, with some backlinking my traffic is growing - I am getting about 70 to 100 unique visitors daily - avg time on site about +/- 2 minutes - and I am continuing to move up the serps.

My adsense click thru is pathetic - under 1% and there is no activity on any of the affiliate banners. Any suggestions on how I can get higher conversions or other monetization models would be appreciated.

Also, I went to ezine articles to see how they monetize and it appears they use google adsense and chitika. i thought there was a limit of 3 adsense ads per page - I pulled up an article and counted 8 adsense ads spread throughout the page? How can they do this?

Thanks.

If you are getting only a 1% CTR, you need to change the way your site displays the ads. You need to test and tweak until you achieve a better CTR. Wisegeek does this brilliantly.

    Any questions let me know

Thanks - they have a nice clean layout - also noticed they are using microsoft paid advertising vs. google.

The default adsense code you are using is the one that will bring you the lowest CTR. Its all a matter of testing different ad units.. I found that a red headline and black description and black URL gave me the highest CTR.

Having said that if you take a look through the Clickbank marketplace you will find a "Green Products" section that has some products with HUGE gravities. So I would test some of the offers on your site.

If you find they sell well after about 100 hops of so, I would take it a step further and place a MASSIVE optin form on your site above the fold offering an enticing free report on this subject... then presell the clickbank products you find in your autoresponser.

I would check out the affiliate pages on the top CB sellers and see what affiliate tools they provide, you may find they have a free report that you can embed your affiliate links with that you can give away a bait on your optin.

    Good luck,
