Hello,
fist i would like to say that i am new to all this.

I want to create a new product, but i want to test the market first. i have selected a product on clickbank, and i am sending visitors via PPC.

So far i have sent about 200 visitors but i made no sales yet. But the product is so popular on clickband and obviously it is selling.

Question 1: how many visitors should i send before i decide to stop and try another product.

Question 2: what's wrong and why none of the 200 visitors did buy, yet the product itseld is selling.

Thanks much guys!

You can lose a lot of money with PPC if you don't know how to do it properly.

You first have to answer a few questions...

    1. Are other people have success with this product using PPC? When you search for the product name or the niche, are you seeing a lot of other PPC Ads?

Not all products do well with PPC and this may be one of them. But if other people are paying for traffic then odds are PPC does work.

    2. Where are you sending your PPC Traffic? Are they going directly to the product sales page or are they going to a landing page? If you're sending it direct then skip to #3 below.

If you are using a landing page then you need to figure out how many of these 200 people actually make it to the product page. Your landing page might not be good and everyone could be bouncing. Thus nobody ever makes it to the product sales page.

    3. What is the conversion rate for the product you are selling? You might be able to get this information from the product's affiliate resource page or maybe you should contact the affiliate manager to find out.

So assuming that these 200 people actually made it to the sales page, then if the product converts 1 in 10 people then you've got a problem. If it converts 1 in 1000 then you'll have to send a lot more people on average to make a sale.

    4. Assuming that the product does convert well (1 in 100 typically) and you should have seen a sale or 2 then you have to start looking at your keywords. Are your keywords targeted towards those looking to buy the product?

This is where most people fail. Don't just throw up any keywords. Think about what potential customers are looking for. For example, someone searching for a "product review" is going to be much more interested in buying the product than someone looking for a very general keyword.

Stick with buying keywords and then let your campaign run for a while. Figure out what converters and bump up that traffic while cutting out what doesn't work.

    I hope that helps...

    Cheers,

    -Tom

    For example, someone searching

      Hey Tom,
      Thanks for the great answer.

      To answer your questions.

1- I looked up the site on keywordspy.com and i saw that the daily budget for PPc is around 30$, and that for the last 3 months. so this means that people are spending on PPC right? also when i do search for the keywordsbada, there are lots ads on google too. so this means people are paying PPC no?

2- I am sending directly to the sale page

3- I have no idea what is the conversion rate. it is not listed on the website.

4- Only one in 100 is a good converstion rate? i thought at least 1 on 10 is good

I will take a look at my keywords, and see what happens!!

      Thanks so much!

If you are going to market using PPC then make sure to send people to an opt-in page where you can get their name and email. If you are using PPC and not capturing leads it can be very difficult just to break even.

If you are new to internet marketing then I would suggest more cost effective ways to drive traffic. You could easily promote your product via article marketing, or in a signature link via forum marketing (just don't spam the forums)!

These are two-cost effective methods I have used to drive traffic to many of my niche blogs/websites.

Right there's your answer. If you know the product is selling already why waste money promoting someone else's product? Especially, when you are already thinking of creating your own. You could just as easily send 200 visitors to your new product via PPC.

Yes i do want to create my product, but first i want to test my ways to see if i generate sales before i create my own product.

what other options do i have then PPC. Do articles really work? i mean, how many visitors a day can you get from just articles and forums?
