IM niche or MMOL niche vs. Dog Niche?

Hey everyone,

Right now I am in the "dog" niche as you can tell by my sig. I am getting ready to create a new product but am also wondering if it would be better to create a product for the IM niche. The dog niche can be profitable but there is a lot of CPA offers for physical products and such, and I want to create an info product.

Has anyone here ever been involved in both the dog niche and the IM niche before? If so, assuming you market your product correctly and work on getting affiliates, which have you found to be more profitable, successful and rewarding? I love both niches! It is really hard to make up my mind...that's the issue here! lol!

I realize competition is extremely high in the IM niche but there are new people coming online everyday that want to learn how to make money online. There are also a lot of people who get new dogs everyday and need to learn how to train them for instance.

So if someone here has been in the IM niche and also been in other niches, I would really like to know what you think. Thanks ahead of time!

Frank Kern, currently one of the most respected and successful marketers in the IM arena, and I believe was also a member of the Warrior Forum, also made a lot of money in the dog niche

Yeah thanks! I realize I can do both, but I am just wondering if the product I am going to create should be in the IM niche or the dog niche. That is my dilemma lol! BTW Frank is still a Warrior Forum member.

It depends on where you want to focus your time, and the amount of value you can offer. If you can offer tremendous value and want to spend your time in the Internet marketing niches then go for it.

Really, it comes down to which business you will be most likely to focus in.

Both, can be extremely profitable. But, neither will be profitable if you cannot focus on them.

For Instance, I'm in multiple niches, but I started each one separately. My main focus nowadays is in the personal development niche. But, as you can tell by my signature I also have a presence in the Internet marketing niche.

When I first started my focus was on affiliate marketing. I focused on each aspect of my business to continually grow my business. I did not move onto another niche until one niche was profitable. If that niche was not profitable for me, then I just scrapped the idea and moved onto the next one. If you try to run multiple projects at the same time, launching each one at the same time it will be very difficult. Now, if you have a dedicated staff and a lot of business experience you can pull that off. But, if you are a one-man show stick to one niche at one time.

        Talk soon,

  • At least you are not targeting saturated niches.

The niche really doesn't matter... what matters is how you can position yourself within the niche.

It's funny you say that I'm not targeting "saturated" niches. I have been reading in some other threads how some people think the IM niche is very saturated and even dying. Although I don't think so.

My first thought is that the dog niche might have less noise depending on which you choose. The IM or MML is quite noisy.

Have you looked at the American kennel club site? The list the 25 most popular breeds by year and the 25 problems. Interesting to do keyword research niching by breed or problem, or both!

So nobody else has any opinions about this? Nobody has tried any other niche? I would think with all of the people here, the knowledge on this would be huge!
