INTERNET MARKETING

Hey Guys,
just came across this contest that Advertising Giant Ogilvy is running. Between
the video, and the Download PDF piece, its picking up some traction. I found
it very interesting and a great approach.

However, if they would have hired a warrior for their IM, it would have
200,000 hits already. I was going to enter, just for the heck of it,
but , i havent had a job in 20 years, what if i actually won?

See what you guys think, and post up some thoughts and feedback,
they could have used a good IM warrior for sure.

I like that video , lots of companies do this now, youtube contest, seems like the norm thing for them to do. I bet some of the replies will be very funny .

  thanks, if i didnt have so much going on, or had a better
  team in place i would do this in a heartbeat. It would be
  fun, just too see how i would end up. Looking forward

I wonder who made the video for this company, and who designed the you tube page. Runs so smooth, and the graphics are very nice in the video, as well as the effects. Anyone know the designer for them?

Sometimes I often think that those aspects may have a lot to do with how a person sells as well, but I have also seen some of the most basic and simple websites, videos, and designs well far better than these kinds of things as well.

It'd be interesting to see how these people sell the bricks, what they would tell people to get them to buy it, how they would market it, and other things...definitely....

It'd be more interesting, however, to see people actually go out in real life and sell the brick to people on the street...lol.

Its pretty sad to see an Olgivy production these days.

It's pretty clear to see why they are losing the war of ad agencies.

Although it does show how people with just a few years of internet marketing under their belt are taking clients from large ad agencies.

Although when they are looking for someone who is looking for a sales Job, it does play into the sales training that was king in the 60's and 70's

The key to any agency profitability is to make sure your creatives cost less than the agency discount.

Its not the job ad sales guy to be able to create a successful campaign for the company, its the ad sales guy's job to create a profitable campaign for Olgivy.

There are a few agencies that work on a participation basis, but those accounts are are a small percentage of major ad agencies client base.

It's too risky for an agency to actually have to perform when their niche is being able to get media buys that a smaller agency simply doesn't get access to.

  I have no idea what they do. That should be the FIRST question answered with marketing. I visited their website and I still had to pry around for a LONG time to figure it out.
