Problems with autoresponder

I'm going to sound a bit like a noob, so I apologize. However, I really don't understand how to correct the issue I'm experiencing and would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me. I googled and searched to see if anyone else was experiencing this problem, which some people are, but I'll be honest..I didn't really understand what they did to solve it.

The problem: I realized that my emails aren't be delivered to people that use AOL or AIM emails, even though I use double opt-in...except they're not even getting the first email that requests their confirmation to their subscription. I checked the AOL postmaster site, but it's asking for an IP address and I wasn't sure if that even pertained to me since I'm using Aweber for my autoresponder...and wouldn't any email sent be from their IP address, and not mine?

If someone could give me step by step instructions on how to resolve this, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you.

    Ummm, weird!

I truly don't know what it means but I think that if you send an email to aweber they will be happy to help you with it. Also, don't think that if you should like a newbie people will hate you. Everyone was once a newbie and they still are in many different aspects.

      Thank you for your reply.

I just noticed the problem a few minutes ago and I sent Aweber an email, but their customer service is closed for the night, so I was hoping a warrior would have some tips for me that I can use tonight, since I would like to get this resolved as soon as possible.

One possibility is ip number of the autoresponder is blocked by AOL. AOL has very picky email severs. They put everything into spam folder.

Just contact aweber. They will clear it for you.

sometimes unfortunately with hotmails, aols and others they sometimes shoot to the spam or bulk folder. The best way to truly test the aol is setting up an account and opt in to test sequence. This way you can see if there truly is an issue. If so I would contact them. I use aweber and havent had any issues on deliverability other than sometimes go's to bulk.

Not knowing your content in the email but one issue could be multiple links or high spam count and aweber would let you know on your scoring when saved.

That's what's confusing me to be honest. I created an AIM email address to test it out. After opting in, I was sent to Aweber's page saying that a confirmation email had been sent to the email address, and yet I never received it. When I checked my subscription list, it shows the AIM address and it says that the confirmation email was sent.

I also checked the spam folder just in case the email was sent directly there, but it wasn't.

      It's very frustrating

Hmm.. do you have alot of aol prospects? i think usually hotmail or aol get stuck? not too sure but I'm not sticking with aweber today because they are forcing me to double opt in.

I have about 3 AOL and AIM subscribers combined. I also checked my spam score for my first message after the send opt-in email is sent and it's at 2.6, which Aweber is saying that's it's good to send..except my problem is that Aweber's confirmation email (second opt-in) isn't being sent.

Hmm..they're not making me double opt-in, but either way it doesn't bother me. I don't want any of my subscribers thinking I'm trying to spam them, so I just leave it on...It cuts down on the headaches :p
