How Will Affiliate, Online Sales Taxes Affect You?

I'm situated here in Colorado... As you might know, Colorado passed an online affiliate sales tax law (HB 1193) earlier this year and Amazon and many other affiliate programs that I belonged to dropped us affiliates...

I know that Amazon and these other programs are still selling to people within my state and are now charging them sales tax on their purchases... Being that they are charging the sales tax, why did they drop us as affiliates? These companies comply with the new law, but punish their affiliates that brought them income through their referrals...

In this day and age where states need more tax income... and look to businesses on the internet as companies getting away with selling products to people within their state boundaries and not collecting their sales tax on these products, while brick and mortar stores and businesses within their state boundaries are giving them less and less sales revenue...

You know that the states suffering sales tax losses are eyeing what states like Colorado, NY, RI and N. Carolina have done... Soon, more and more states are going to pass online sales tax laws and more affiliate marketers are going to be dropped from affiliate programs as a punishment... the state isn't being punished, only the affiliate marketers...

How do you see this as affecting your online affiliate marketing endeavors?
