Any success with Stubmle Upon?

Well recently I purchased an ebook from one of the marketers here at Warrior forum and it was Stumble Upon Exposed. I'm just wondering now that I finally intend to pursue it. Have anyone actually tried it and made it profitable? I see its being sold a lot all over in most im forums now so it is slightly saturated? Can it be saturated?

StumbleUpon is a picky bunch... Many say the traffic is nothing better than paid traffic. This mainly depends upon what you are showing those users and who you have to share your post with...

I have a few long standing guys as friends that have a massive amount of friends and they share some of my articles every once in awhile... I have made $600 from one article within a few hours from stumbleUpon, I have also generated a recurring income from one article...

Bottom line is it's basically who you know and your content your are presenting...

I have not purchased the ebook you speak of, I tested things for myself and got in with a few good stumblers..

It has worked for me in the past as far as getting traffic is concerned.

Sales, I never tried to promote any of my promotional content from stumbleupon but I have gotten some loyal readers from there who have resulted in purchases later on.

SU as with any other social bookmarking sites are great for a quick boost of traffic. But traffic is only one thing. You should also consider the conversions.

That's good to know that at least if I don't get sales I should get some quality traffic.

Yes that is true, Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah I tested Yahoo Buzz with 3 articles, did not do much really so I got bored with it ...lol I guess if I really wanted to really test it I would do it with about 20 different articles on different subjects.

I agree. I've used SU in the past and I did get traffic to my site(s). Though I will say that they are indeed particular some of the reasons I didn't have higher conversions was because I didn't have a good grasp on some of the other concepts of Internet Marketing.

  • My biggest day ever came from Yahoo! Buzz (it got one of my sites on the frickin' front page of Yahoo! for about 12 hours), but the articles that have been read the most over time are those that have been Stumbled again and again over periods of months and years in some cases.

Most stumblers are after a few seconds of entertainment before moving onto the next site so the effectiveness of SU really depends on content.

Has to be light, easy to read and nothing heavy.

Several times I've had very good bursts of traffic but the main benefit is been consistent low level traffic.

Yeh, its really disappointing that yahoo buzz is such a waste unless you actually get on the front page but I don't even know how they judge which page should be featured or not? I see some on the front page with like 30 buzzes while others have 100 buzzes.

Haha true, how did you even get on the front page though how many buzzes did you have when you were on the front page? I can get people to social bookmark my site but too bad they don't go base on the # of buzzes but then I guess people would abuse that system.

Haha that's bad for me then. My site is a healthy foods site. I'm in the process of talking a designer through a custom design for my site. Any suggestions? It's looking pretty good to me but I'm no professional and I'll be the first to admit it.

Stumbleupon is one more tool in your toolbox. Like Digg or some of the others mentioned. They help generate minor traffic and backlinks. Not enough by themselves to matter though. But they can be incorporated into your overall strategy.

Ya but the WSO you bought was about buying traffic on stumbleupon, right? That's the only WSO i know of on this subject. Not about using it as a normal user and utilizing it that way. Richjerksnet seems to be talking about using it socially, not the paid promotion part of it.

Unless you bought a different WSO.

Yes I was speaking of using it as a social network and not paid traffic ....

One of my sites gets quite a bit of traffic from SU, depends on the niche more than anything.

yeah I don't know if he got the WSO that talks about paying for traffic using the site or not, but that's the only WSO I know about it. Could be others, I am sure. I just figured that's the one he got.

    Ight, over and out.

Thanks for your response Yes I guess it depends on the niche and which category your site falls into really depends on how many subscribers in each category. I believe there is a list of that some where.

Thanks, Yes was referring to that as well. Is that successful I hadn't had the time to pursue it after purchasing it months back and now thought of taking another look at it. The information I received of general stumbling from this thread was equally as good though but I'd appreciate any feedback someone who tried it out could provide

Thanks for your advice, I'll keep that in mind. Does it provide good conversations though?

Thanks, yes that is the ebook I have. I've yet to use it though. Want to use that method to flip sites. Think it'll be as the person said?
I purchased it from the OP but after I questioned about the difference in title I haven't gotten any response. Then just left the method alone without trying it till now.

I agree that Stumbleupon will get you exposed, but it doesn't guarantee a conversion. Still a pretty quick and fun and easy way to put the site out there.

Another thing that could do well is a cause for example a good site on animal rights might get stumble because people are passionate about that and want to spread the message.

Thanks for replying, my site is going to be regarding healthy foods. Not too sure that'll be very viral but I got a method to get people to help me stumble, rate, and comment on my link. Do you think that will help if I ask them to stumble the link in their account? If I can get 100+ Stumbles how much traffic do you think I should expect?

Thanks your your advice. I'll be sure to do that as well. I'm using both Stumble Upon, Stumble Upon Ads, Social Bookmarking, and 5 blog comments per day. Hopefully that'll build up a steady stream.
