I'm guessing this varies quite a bit, but I only need a rough idea.

Say I have an article which has recieved 1000 unique views.
How many of these visitors should I expect to click through to my sales letter?

Out of the remaining people who click through to my sales letter, how many should I expect to actually buy the product?

I remember hearing a quote of 1% conversion rate if you link straight to a sales page, is that correct? Every ~100 visitors I get, I will make 1 sale?

I believe the article views do not matter in this sense. Articles usually receive lots of views in the beginning then it slows down until it gives you very few views. It is best to assume 1% conversion rate in all the visits you can get.

The thing you can do here is test. From there, you can find out which will work and which will not.

Don't go with the rule of thumb here.

Just write an article, find out how many views you get and then find your CTR and conversions. I mean it's free so why wait and waste your time instead of doing it RIGHT NOW.

BTW, it's not about the views. Your article has to be high quality, interesting and you should have a good call to action in the signature.

Articles get between 8% - 40% the average is around 25%.

Sales page conversion average is around 2% but you should probably think about 1%.

To give you an idea about sales pages, Travis Sago's (Bum Marketing Method) sales page for his "Get Your Ex Back" product is converting at around 4%. That's pretty good for cold conversions.

Articles fluctuate so much because it depends on how well written the article is and if the resource box has a strong call to action.
