Finding products are ez, finding keywords are incredibly hard

Is it me or is finding good profitable keyword phrases with little competition so hard?

I found that finding products to promote and creating sites for that product is the easy part. But finding good keywords with little competition is like looking for a needle in a 1 acre hay stack. I even have micro niche finder and it's still hard as heck to find good keywords. Anyone feel the same way here? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated as well.

    Define what is a good keyword to you... I don't have problem finding keywords, market samurai ftw . Saying that, my keywords are out side of the box a bit not the usual, look for a weight loss keyword.

    I don't usually have a problem finding them either. I use a combination of Micro Niche Finder and Niche Horde. What criteria are you using to evaluate the keywords?

      I use only Market Samurai and I've never had problems finding keyword. In fact I usually find more than I have time to buidl sites and write content about. Might be worth a shot to pick it up. I think they have a trial period so you can try it out before buying.

    Market Samurai is awesome.

    I wouldn't focus TOO much on keywords though. Once you find a good niche that you feel is marketable, you got to get out there and build a site and start promoting. Keywords are a good benchmark, but you'll find that people will find your site in all kinds of unexpected ways.

    The more you promote, the more exposure you will get, you've just got to keep pushing up that hill. (it helps if you can look ahead and make sure the hill isn't too steep or crowded)

      I do it in a different order. I choose the niche - find the keywords and then look for a good product that fits.

        I use micro niche finder. I'm trying to promote cb products, but it seems like many of the keyword phrases I find in micro niche finder are too competitive.

        Me too that is one way to look at making a site profitable always keep your eye on youyr customers' experience. Build autoblogs and split test what you are doing for instance in blog 1 add the plugin plugazon and advertise one product only.

        THen create another in the same niche with different criterion but the same keywords and see how you go.

    Write more articles...build more backlinks...write more content.

      I feel the opposite sometimes. Finding keywords is easy, finding good products to promote is harder.

        With my case, apparently every product can sell. Dump a bunch of keywords, track them, remove those that does not convert. So keywords selection is simple. It is a result of testing.

    The thing is that keywords are not the only thing you use. A good keyword combined with a good title, a good description and some topical tags will run rings around someone just relying on keywords.

    Your title will often be picked up far more than your keywords.

    99% of people have not learned this yet so even if there is a crowded keyword phrase ( and it should be a phrase not a single keyword) by adding in your content good titles and descriptions you can often dominate that area.

    A simple approach that often bypasses the need for endless research is to simply look at the top 10 sites for any given keyword. Sometimes there are things like ezinearticles ranking at 7 or 8 on a keyword that everything else says is too competitive.

    And that's a sign that ranking high should be pretty easy with some concerted effort.
