What is Your Step by Step Traffic Plan per Post?

For each post on your blog, do you promote it with an organized traffic plan? If so I would love to read the steps you take if you are willing to share.

I tend to do a bit of this and then a little of that etc. I would like to organize my traffic plan better.

Appreciate your input.

The best thing you can do is research the keywords your post is based around. Find out how much competition there is and then how many people are looking for what you are saying.

This is going to make a huge difference in the amount of traffic you get.

You can check this information using Google.

I do my kw research before the post.

I am curious what each person does after they post to promote it - the basics. Naturally if it is a very competitive kw it will have to be promoted more. But what basic plan do you use per post?

      1. I just submit it to popular social sites for my niche. And wait for real visitors

      2. If post is really good I send sometimes email to my list

      3. After some time I build backlinks to it using different methods

Here are the steps I go through.

    1) Choose a keyword and check out connecting keywords
    2) Write post with H2 tags covering connecting keywords and main/supporting keywords peppered throughout
    3) Using thesis, throw in those same connecting/supporting keywords in description and keyword tags
    4) Post to social media sites (socialmarker.com is a good tool for this)
    5) I have all my posts automatically set up for twitter, facebook fanpage autoposting.
    6) If you're content is actually 'good' you'll get amazing traffic. Realistically most of my blog posts get an initial spike of 2-300 hits through social media and then the readers post it up on their twitters, facebooks etc which does most of the linking work for me. I may sometimes email a couple bloggers I know who would be interested in the article and they sometimes throw me a link back.
