Hey guys,

I'm curious to hear what you think about who are the largest buyers of IM products...

I have heard so many different opinions. Now I'd love to hear yours!

Exactly...the people who make the products buy them. How else would you know how to do things, if you never actually looked into anything ever?

As for the buying aspect: Some people don't mind paying and see it as an investment, and are MORE drawn to something when they actually invest in it, than if it were offered for free.

        Yeah?

Contraversly, I know the owner of one of the top IM products on Clickbank that currently has 16,000+ members. He told me that have studied and profiled them continuously. 85% are new online or are looking to get rich quick...

Yes, but it's relevant to study many things, and internet marketing is definately something to be studying if someone wants to make a successful product.

Some people look at it this way: if they take away even just ONE THING, or one lesson from whatever they are reading, viewing, listening to ....then it was worth while.

Sure we may find products where we know 99.9% of what is said in there, but sometimes it serves as a reminder to do something we might have put off, or serves as a reminder to start something we had completely forgotten about, or maybe it does tell is that extra thing we were missing...just in a new perspective.

So to some people, even if the product is just regurgitating what they already know, they still see potential in it for one reason or another....maybe even to study their competition, or study what the majority are doing (what kinds of products they are using, the writing style, sales copies, information, and other things).

A lot can be learned from that.

Almost anyone interested in online business buys internet marketing products.

edit: I see you asked who the largest group was. I'd say the largest group are definitely people who have heard about others making money online and want to give it a go themselves.

Basically traditional 9-5 workers who are sick of not earning enough or want to go into business for themselves and see internet marketing as an easily accessible way.

For me, I think it's either small business owners, or like your poll, people who think it's just so easy to make money online.

People who want get-rich-quick schemes and people who made "some" kind of money but want to reach the next step of financial independence. These are the biggest markets.

Making money online is a VERY lucrative market for obvious reasons.

apart from the obvious i.e. Internet Marketers, I would assume many, if not the largest group of people looking for IM products are people looking for get rich quick programmes

I don't think IMers are the biggest buyers. I think the get rich quick types actually are!

I personally think that most of these buyers are those people who have the get rich mentality. As mention from some of the warriors, it will be dependent on the kind of internet marketing products that you are selling.

I am sure there are some marketers who purchase the product so that they can spy on their competitor.

Really? It was my understanding that the Bus-Op (business opportunity "get rich quick") market is way bigger than the IM niche.

The largest group is definitely the fifth one (People looking for get rich quick ideas).

That's why so many product sellers use a lot of hype, to attract
people who want to get rich quickly.

Unfortunately the vast majority are get-rich-quick-and-easy seekers. And that's precisely why they fail

To me the largest group would be those that are looking for some quick money. Also those that know get rich quick schemes don't work but they need to be reassured that it's possible to make money online

    Your poll options should include:

-Beginning IM'ers who know they can learn the necessary skills/techniques from the forums but don't have the time to search/hunt for the answers and will pay for someone who has summarized it all in an ebook.

This was my reason for purchasing IM products.

I think just to say Internet Marketers is way too broad and I think it's more the "I Wanna Be Internet Marketer" that buys the largest portion of IM products.

The majority of them are geared towards the lazy person looking for a Get Rich Quick Scheme with little to no work. When one fails to produce the results they want, they move on to the next ... never really implementing techniques because they discover that it involves some kind of action (oh no!) on their part.

They are also the ones who come in here and scream ... I got ripped off! So and so said I'd make $5000 by tomorrow and I haven't! What a SCAM!

There is a smaller amount of more serious IM products that aren't shouting out that you'll make such and such thousands in your sleep and are built on solid techniques.

Virtually no one self-identifies with the notion
of wanting to get rich quick... yet everyone
wants to get rich, as quickly as possible, IME.

The shades and hues of that desire are different,
but the core desire for money, sooner rather than
    later, is universal.

We all want that on a basic level.

The reasons WHY we want it differ greatly, and the
ways we express our desire for it to come to pass
    are equally divergent.

Intellectual honesty and a detached perspective of
ones own behavior is uncommon at best. You have
to look at what people DO, not what they say.

    Interesting thread, Sean.
    I'll be reading it.

    Best,

    Brian

Thanks for the comment Brian. You're 100% right.

But don't people really just want money at a deeper level so that they can expearience certain things? Relaxation, freedom, travel, fun stuff, the feeling of driving a new car and having people see...?
