How would you generate Will Writing leads?

I'm with a company where we have loads of agents throughout the UK who want to write wills. All have had their training - but we are finding it really hard to generate appointments. We have tried online and telemarketing. With online marketing we tried PPC with a landing page where people could contact their local will writer. We did get some enquiries but the cost per appointment was prohibitively expensive.

What methods would you use? We would like to make as many as 100 appointments per day.

First, let me wish you good luck, because anytime your income relies on people giving serious consideration to your own mortality you are looking at an uphill climb the entire way.

Having said that, your best prospects are ones who are recently familiar with the problems faced by a friend or loved one who died without a will. the best place to find them is by scouring the obituaries and looking for names. And obviously, the older the prospect, the more likely they will understand the necessity of having a will.

But the flip side to that is families that just had children. If you catch them in the first 30-60 days (before they start considering...however briefly...murdering their young for crying all the time and depriving them of any sleep) their intentions on being the best parents posssible are at their highest. Since most courts will accept the wishes of the parents in regards to child custody in the event of the death of the parents, a will is important even if they don't have two pennies to give away.

Generally your local document registry/recorders office will make that information available to you if you are a legitimate business. You can also work with obstetrician's offices to get leads that way as well.

If you focus on those two groups, you should be able to generate the kinds of leads you are looking for.

You can use blogs-articles-videos-press releases to go after targeted words and unlimited clicks and views for free through this way.

Also with this type of niche you may want to atleast do a 2 step approach.

You offer value (free report-cd-info) in return for info. Then take any online leads into offline sequence such as mailings. I have found that you will get the highest conversions and results by providing value online and then taking offline for rest of process.

      Hello:

I also suggest using a two-step process with a free informational offer as the first step that answers common questions such as "Is this legal?" and that gives an overview of the relevant law (and who you are) while also acting as a sales piece. The format would be similar to that of a white paper, just friendlier.

Use a UK version of SRDS (srds.com) to find organizations/associations with mailing lists. Find out if they have newsletters that accept advertising. Such a placement will increase your credibility. Plus, you will be able to send follow-up mailings to those who respond as well as to the entire organization's/association's list. (Read a few good books on direct mail. Many of the techniques apply online.)

Do not overlook community organizations. For example, churches may publish newsletters that accept advertising. Such an "endorsement by association" could be very valuable in helping your agents to become known as legitimate and trustworthy alternatives to lawyers.

Segment your market to give more specific answers to the question "Why should I make a will now?" based on a client's life situation. (marriage/divorce, baby, travelling outside the country, property purchases, buying insurance, etc)

Joint venture with local businesses to distribute information on how to get your free booklet or even the booklet itself. Perhaps you can also distribute the information in the local hospital and/or in relevant government offices.
