Physical vs. digital products (or how to build blogs around physical products)

Hi,
let me ask you warriors a question..
So far I've been building simple sniper blogs around clickbank products in different niches - with limited success. Now I think it is time to try something new, and I would like to build a new blog about certain type of cycling shoes.

The vendor has no affiliate program, but the shoes are sold through Amazon.
Althouh the comission at amazon is just 7-10%, I think that maybe shoes are more likely to get sold then digital e books, and that there is a bigger market out there for physical products. There are many non competitive keywords with a good amount of monthly search for those types of shoes.

What do you think?
Is it easier to promote and make money with digital or physical products?
If you are selling physical products, how do you build your blogs? Is it the same as for clickbank products ?

Any suggestions on how to build a web site about 20 types of shoes that is not a web shop, but links to amazon ?

Personally, I believe in a balance of the two. Physical products are usually evergreen in most of the niches, unless you have something very much company-specific or product specific. And the range of products is extremely wide. The catch is that some products are better purchased physically than online - so beware. Digital products give you a better direct commission usually, and you can own your own digital product much more easily compared to owning a physical product. But yes, physical product sells. And I recommend Daniel Brock's Amazon WSO very strongly (I am a happy customer) if you mean to go after physical niches.

I personally have found physical products easier to sell mainly because of the trust issue involved - especially if you use amazon as your affiliate network. people already trust these networks, they see the product, they know the product is really going to show up on the door step when they pay for it, etc.

Also, the keywords you can target tend to be more buyer oriented so you can sell a lot easier.

Commission % less....yes. but that doesn't mean you can't make the same amount of money from one sale.

Earlier in December I sold a $1200 playset which netted me roughly $100 in commission. Not many ebooks out there where you can say you can get paid like that for a sale.

What you want to do is review all of the shoes in your niche and throw them up on a wordpress blog. Tailor your blog article titles to target all the buyer keywords.

Buyer keywords are basically your brand names, the word review(might not be there for shoes), buy, on sale, model numbers, etc.

    Good luck!

Physical products are sometimes perceived to be the better value product but because we live in this "instant" age - instant meals, instant coffee, instant information and most importantly to some - instant download this is not always the case. Some people want the information immediately and unfortunately some physical products have not sold as well lately.

But it really does depend on what niche we are talking. I was offered a hard cover book the other day from a friend or I could download it - yes you are right I took the download option.

ok, I understand that this might be the case with downloadable info products like books, software, music, movies, games, etc...

but you can't download shoes, mobile phones or **** berry juice, right

we live in an "instant" age, this is true, but we also live in an "lazy comfortable" age where more and more people don't want to spend the whole day shopping, but rather sit at home and order stuff from their bedroom.
