GoDaddy Marketing...

I was just thinking the other day about GoDaddy marketing? Here is the older Bob Parsons surrounded by young females.

I am curious if anyone has not signed up with Godadday because of the way he markets the site or if it actually encouraged you to sign up?

    I have more than doubled my business with Godaddy since all the hot chicks and videos they promote. The 1st superbowl commercial was a great marketing campaign for them.

    Hey Lee! I think you'll find in general that Godaddy is catering to male customers and it works to some extent. I (reluctantly) have bought and kept hundreds of Domains at Godaddy over the last 10 years because they are stable and it's easier to track domains at one registrar.

    I have seriously considered moving domains after not wanting to contribute $$ to a company that exploits women, but when I changed registrars I had problems and keeping track gets tedious.

    There was quite a to-do a few years back when GD really started pushing the females and suggestive ads - both men and women complained, but GD decision maker(s) didn't really care.

    I have yet to personally meet a domainer or webmaster who boycotted GD for this but I am sure there are out there and kudos to them.

      They are killing it, believe me.

      Their name gets something like 4 million searches per month.

      That's almost more searches than there are for the term 'web hosting' and WAY more searches for the term 'domain registration'

      I think that tells us something about how effective the marketing is...
