Who Wants To Make Money Right Now?...Yes, Right NOW!

Okay, if you're bored, have nothing else to do and want to make some quick
cash without a ton of work, and WITHOUT having to wait for EZA to approve
your article...give this a shot. And the beauty of this little money maker is
that there are so many niches to choose from that nobody will get in another
person's way...not really.

Here it is...step by step. It shouldn't take you longer than an hour...tops.

Step 1 - Go to Google Hot Trends.

Here is the URL:

Google Trends: Oct 12, 2008

You will notice a TON of hot trends there, so there is plenty to choose
from. These are keywords, things and people that are getting mass
searches RIGHT NOW. It will tell you the last time it was updated. Right
now, as I am writing this, it was updated about 50 minutes ago.

Step 2 - This is the part that takes a little research and most of your
hour. Look for items that you can monetize, either through selling a related
affiliate product (preferably Clickbank as it's easy to sign up) or through
Adsense.

You have to use a little imagination for the monetization part. For example,
right now, one of the hot trends is nascar results. Now, a lot of people
into nascar are into stuff like hats and shirts and other memorabilia. You
can monetize this either through Adsense ads that sell this stuff, or, if
you can find an affiliate program that sells this stuff (won't be Clickbank)
you can sell a few items yourself. Take your time on this part of it because
if you don't monetize this carefully, the next steps are going to be for
nothing.

You also want to do a little keyword research for this to make sure you're
not going up against a million sites. The newest hot trends, especially if
they've never been hot before, will have very few competing sites.

These are the ones you can cash in on quickly.

Step 3 - Get a blogger blog and name it something that fits the niche. It
isn't the best choice but waiting for your own domain and hosting will
not get you up and running quickly. So start with a blogger blog and if
you see it's taking off, you can always move everything to your own
domain later.

Step 4 - Write an article on the subject matter and put it on your blog.
If you are selling an affiliate product, make sure you have a link to it at
the end of the article.

Step 5 - Go to sites like Digg and dig your article. Do this with as many
sites as you can.

That's it.

Total time for this whole thing is one hour, more or less.

They don't all come up winners, but I have hit on some big money makers
when I picked JUST the right hot trend.

It's kind of like playing hit and run at the stock market. Yes, it's risky, but
it's the quickest way I've ever seen of making money when it works, which
for me is about 40% of the time.

Like I said, if you've got nothing to do (and that's the key) and you can
blow an hour in your day, or just want to take an hour to have some fun
(yes, this can be a real thrill ride looking to see if your site takes off) then
I don't see the harm.

Are there better ways to make money for your business? Of course there
are, but as I said, this is for when you want to kill some time and still
make a few bucks besides.

My best blog earned me over $500 in one day for a hot trend that lasted
for almost 24 hours. It was a very big news story from about a year ago.

Anyway, thought I'd throw this out there for a Sunday afternoon for those
of you who aren't into football and are tired of BSing with their Aunt
Matilda.

It's crazy and it's a lot of fun.

I do it expecting nothing but when it takes off, it's wild to see the money
start coming in on stuff that, quite honestly, I don't understand what all
      the fuss is about.

Half the stuff that these people are searching for I don't even know what
it is and can't for the life of me figure out why they even give a rat's ass.

But the point is, they do, so why not capitalize on it?

Amazing post, Steve. Inspired me to do my first blogpost. I don't want to shamelessly promote myself, but the link is in my signature. (ed.: but it won't show, so just in case: http://im-geek.co.cc)

It's really interesting how a GREAT deal of those searches deal about watching TV shows online, or downloading them through torrents. This will seem strange for a US-resident, but it seems there's a VERY big stream of traffic. The top 25 searches right now have at least 8-10 searches about it, and it seems there's few internet marketers aware of it, simply because the search query that is being used, uses specific kinds of keywords. Or am I wrong?

I used my geeky touch to elaborate on it. My geek senses also prodict a surge of searches Heroes season 3, episode 5 in all kinds of certain keywords, in a few hours.

Actually I've used a variation of this method before, but I chose the PPC way because there usually isn't any competition for hot trends keywords and the bids are low - it converted pretty well, so I'll try the free route too - should be fun.

    Cheers!

Nice post Steve. I have done some things like this in the past however I did not do to much with digg and social networking sites. Instead I wrote press releases. There are quite a few places that allow you to submit press releases for free some of which will even get you on Google News.

If you can put yourself in the right frame of mind and think like a reporter you can do rather well. Of course your press releases do not get approved right away and can sometimes take you a day or so.

A few years back I had a press release that was about Satellite TV For PC Pro and the possible effects that it could have on the cable / satellite industry. It made me thousands in affiliate sales within a week or so.

The best part about doing press releases or even digg, etc... is that you do not need to write about a hot trend it simply has to be controversial.

Or spend the hour developing a real business. Use that research to identify a problem people have where there are no good solutions in the marketplace, and solve that problem.

Spending your time like this just guarantees you'll always be working 12 hours a day trying to make enough to pay your bills.

You can use this strategy to add to your existing business as well though. I check Google trends nearly every day and if there happens to be a weight loss trend I write about it on my weight loss blog. My post usually gets indexed within the hour and I get alot of extra traffic, which means I get more subscribers as well as a few sales.

Another idea for what Steve posted.

Try this also. I've done it time and time again. And it works all the time. I used it over the past 2 weeks and grabbed a shit ton of traffic from people looking for VP debate times. And connected the traffic with a nice converting voting CPA offer.

Take some time and build up a decent self-hosted WP site. Create one that covers a wide range of topics. Like a "current events" themed site.

Slowly build links to it and use the usual social linking techniques too.

Give this site about a month and post unique content here and there.

Then have fun with stalking long-tail words from Google Trends and other sites.

Connect those terms with things that can pay you and you WILL make some $$$.

The traffic for each phrase you target usually only comes in for a short time. Since the term is usually hot and then slows. But if you get on a term early and connect it with a good offer. You can sit back and watch some nice little chunks of $$$ come in.

This technique takes a little more time than what Steve posted. But works just as good too. Because once the site has brewed you can use the same site over and over for all the long-tail Trend words you want to profit on.

Maybe, but this is a GREAT exercise for those of us just starting out. It's a simple process that involves many of the elements of more complex Affiliate marketing, such as picking a market, picking a product, writing an article, etc.

I just now went through the steps as Steven described them, and although I may not make a nickel from it, it was certainly not a waste of time. It's just a simple and condensed version of the more complec stuff.

And, having done it once, my confidence has increased. In fact, I will probably do this several times today and tomorrow.

      Thanks, Steven.....!!

If you bothered to REALLY read my post, I said that this was just a way to
      kill an hour.

Not everything has to be about building a REAL business and it doesn't have
to be done every second of every day. Sometimes people just want to do
      something for fun.

      I agree, in part...

However, a real business could be built from this method.

Let's assume 1 hour per day spent on:

      - writing
      - researching

Assume you're earning, on average, $30 per trend.

Hire someone (from RAC) to do the writing and researching...
@ 1hr, I'd expect to pay around $10-$15 for someone good.

This way it is scaleable and wouldn't affect my main business.
If you're consistently earning profit, you can hire more people
or get the same person to work for, say 4 hours.

      I wouldn't turn away $15-$20 profit for each hour I don't work

Steven's method above is no substitute for growing a real business, but
it can bring in much needed cash, in a short amount of time - cash
that can either be reinvested, or pay the bills - taking pressure off
you while you grow your business.

It's much easier (for me) psychologically to grow a business without
the pressure of HAVING to earn immediately.

With that said, I chose another route...

I went BACK to my job, and grew my business on the side -
then went part time on my job - and then when I was losing
money by being at my job, I left... there's 95% chance I'll never
have to go back to a regular job.

You especially can make money Right Now if you choose products to promote that are based on the $7 Dollar or the Rapid Action Profits script, that way you get paid directly to your PayPal account.

Or, if you have any PLR material based on the subject, go through and edit it, add affiliate links, and sell it directly to the traffic coming from the site. This may not be possible because of the urgency of the trend, but it's not impossible.

    Do it! Do it now!!

That's also a great way to pull in a little income to use for funding your projects. If you spend a few hours each week on this, you could hopefully have at least a good $100 or $200 to use for buying domains, sites, hosting, etc...

You know you could make this excellent strategy far more powerful if you did it in niches where you already have sites, you're collecting email addresses etc.

That way you could be driving traffic to adsense or monetizing your site in these ways but also be picking up new prospects and clients for the sites you're running.

Ultimately in your online marketing you want the effort you put in to pay you in multiple ways.

That is true. The problem with the hot niches concept is that a lot of
them don't fit into your "standard normal" niche. Actually, I have found
that most of the hot niches are more of the news/entertainment variety.

In other words, turn on the TV, watch the news or the hot new program
or maybe premiere movie and you'll find a lot of these things popping up
        in the hot searches.

But sure, if you have a regular niche, simply writing relevant news type
articles related to that niche and then going to sites like Digg will most
        certainly bring you extra traffic.

This is something you should be doing on a regular basis anyway if you're
running a content based model. For those who just dump thousands of
dollars a month into pay per click, no, this method isn't going to be very
        appealing.

Thanks for the excellent idea Steven...here's what I did.

I was working on a WP site and saw a long tail kw that was "mildly hot" and related to what I was already working on. I grabbed an article from EZA (complete with bio box and all) and made a page with that keyword as title.

I then 'digg'ed it and set about researching an article of my own. I finished my own article (500 words) and replaced the one I'd borrowed. I then did the SEO plugin for that page.

Time will tell, but my digg is 4th on the first page(!) for that term after only a few hours.

Brand new site, no traffic yet so we'll see how it does when the analytics kick in.

Thanks man, I may not make a penny, but the urgency and fun of getting something up and running sure made that lousy football game at lot easier to swallow!

I've been wondering about Squidoo. I've noticed that lenses aren't coming up in Google like they used to. Not in the first 2 or 3 pages, anyway. I wasn't sure if I should keep putting any time into Squidoo or not.

Cheers for the idea, will certainly use it if i can spin an idea into money in my ehad through the blog.

This is always the sticking point for me, i have a great diea but never feel like i can spin money from it properly through implementation.

      Matt...

Go to socialmarker.com and register with some of the bigger sites

DIGG, Propellor etc.. the bigger named ones...

Then hit Blogger.com and create an account, this way you can have unlimited free blogs in all manner of niches as and when you need them...

Then follow Steve's link to Google trends above... get used to the feel of GTrends, it will become your best friend whilst doing this little game....

Then pick a monetizable (is that even a word??) HOT Trend... and fire up a blogger blog in your new account with an URL with the trend in the name,

I just looked over there at GTrends and saw Watch Entourage episode 5... so hit up an URL like entourageepisode5.blogspot.com...

Now write an article (or 3 if you are feeling creative)... plug in your adsense code or some CPA offers around entourage merchandise or fun things...

Then use Socialmarker to bookmark that badboy with DIGG, propellor etc...

Watch it ride and do another if you are feeling lucky...

Sometimes it will end up a complete waste of time... other times you will have a laugh seeing the profits off such a simple task.. it's fun to do and you can test your game a little by experimenting with new trends...

I've hunted in full niches before as a result of this simple little play around

      Peace

I've recently bought socialbot so i can social bookmark quite easily.

So basically you just make money from the adsense?

Do you use the under 10,000 compeition rule for keywords of that niche though? or do you just go in any compeition. It's the adding content and mentizing the g-trend/keyword that i find hardest.

Is this basically getting people to the page to earn off adsense?

It doesn't have to be adsense.. some hot trends can have products that fit perfectly with them...

Clickbank isn't the only game in town.. look at independent affiliate programs, and CJ.com etc...

If you follow Steven's example or the example I posted about using your own hosted WP domain you will make some cash.

So what if it is not a business model. This is something you can do in your free time. Hell, you can crack a beer late at night while at your computer and do this. It really is that easy.

      Exactly!

Not only that, but what about the newbies just starting out who have yet to make a single sale online?

I remember my very first sale. My commission was $1.60.

It was the hardest $1.60 I've ever made online, because it was the first. Before that, I had no belief or expectation that IM would "work" for me. Once I made that very first commission, everything changed.

I forever viewed the internet differently, and my life has been much better for it as a result.

If Steven's generous offering helps just one new marketer make his or her very first sale, and that sale leads to them to now believing in themselves, and they go on to leave their job and do this full-time, then how valuable did this turn out to be?

Bravo Steven! Your generosity is something I hope to emulate here as time goes by.

Jason, the problem with the tool is it doesn't update real time like Google
Hot Trends does. For example, the current number 1 hot trend shows no
searches at WT, which is clearly wrong since the trend is volcanic.

So unfortunately, this tool, for this purpose, is useless.

Yes it works both ways Matt, target the search engines too.. usually the stumbleupon traffic doesn't convert well with products, but they do like to click things and get things for free.. hence the CPA offers etc

First, let me say I see both sides of the issue.

There seems to be a bit of a misconception in some of the replies here. How so? Well, there is always a chance that one of these hot trends will stay hot, and become the next big thing.

Imagine if Google had their trends running about 10 years ago. You check the results one day and see this thing called "work at home business", and decide to spend an hour following the plan. My guess is you would still be raking in profits on it. Obviously, names are less likely to stay big for a long time, but you never know. Britney Spears stayed 'hot' for a long, long time (and may be hot again very soon), and other 'names' could do well.

Granted, these may be rare, but that doesn't mean that both sides of this issue can't be right. It's a bit of a gamble no matter what you choose, but the risk is small and the payout may be decent. If nothing else, it could be a good way to do something different to keep things from getting too monotonous.

-- Damn just asking a simple question. You have obviously as lot of pent of frustration --

I did read the post and maybe you should read step 3 again yourself:

"Get a blogger blog and name it something that fits the niche. It
isn't the best choice but waiting for your own domain and hosting will
not get you up and running quickly"

Obviously, if I am talking subdomain I have hosting and could create a subdomain that fits.

However, a real business could be built from this method.
    >>

I agree, is very interesting, since this is Niche Marketing to the max....in a sense that it is even limited in time.

Not that long ago i read about a similar concept, not sure if google trends was used or even "google news".

it was about getting the literally recent trend, whatever it is, and the example was about some rap-star which hit headlines this very day.

Person made a site about this rapper, and started PPC, and (as far as i remember) made a killing from AdSense within hours.

Since this is a VERY quick living thing i am thinking further, you could immensely expand on this concept. Maybe i will work on somehing.

    What i am thinking:

    AUTOMATION!!

Imagine a tool going out on google trends, google news and getting the latest trends, and automatically create/fetch articles, slap those on a landing page/template...upload on blogger/squidoo etc...and this basically 24h/day....7 days/week automatically You wouldnt even need to bother about adsense since AdSense would slap the right ads on your page, based on content.

Darn..my fingers itch to create something like this...i am aware there are systems like this out there already...but this would be solely and especially for short lived but extremely hyped trends.

I saw this one and tried to find the kws for it. But all the words I put into Google (varying from 1,000 to 40,000 searches) were topped by one or two sites (cafepress, zazzle, etc.)
I gave up the idea thinking that people who would search those t-shirts would naturally click the first link they saw, right? My blog would stand no chance.
So, what's the idea with the blogs? Would all my traffic come from soc. bookmarking site alone?

        Yes...

something that's newsworthy and "in buzz" is worth stumbling, digging, tweeting etc.

You might pick up a little SE traffic, if you're indexed quick enough - but not necessarily worth concentrating on - unless it's a trend that's going to keep growing over a number of days... S Palin T-shirts are one such thing that "might" just do that.

You should focus all your efforts on driving traffic via social bookmarking in my opinion.

Seriously, though - if you could figure out a way to monetize the Southern California wildfire, you'd be in fat city.

I'd like to give some suggestions here. Following techniques work for me in the past:

    1. Ringtone offers: if you monitor G trend carefully, you will notice that some song titles are in the top 100 occassionally. The search terms are usually in this format : "song title + lyrics".
Well you can set up a quick slash page that contains the lyrics, singer bio, and its youtube video(if available), then sprinkle with ringtone offers(make the offer big and noticeable).Next, social bookmark the page. You should be able to make a quick buck or two.

    2. Occasionally, people are looking for information for some sport events (UFC, NFL etc etc). A great way to monetize these traffic is to sell tickets to these sport events.

My best blog earned me over $500 in one day for a hot trend that lasted
for almost 24 hours. It was a very big news story from about a year ago.
Well, since the trend is gone, why not share specifics so people will have a better idea what you're talking about. Nothing beats real world examples.

I decided to do this. However, I learned a valuable lesson here. I haven't worked with actively promoting affiliates very much, but I found a nice ebook that fit in perfectly with my chosen niche. Unfortunately it wasn't through a recognized place like CJ or Clickbank, but was run by the individual product owner.

Got everything set up, and then had to go work on other things for a day. When I checked my stats tonight, I had made $5.00 off of adsense, but no affiliate sales. Mmmm. I checked my affiliate stats and discovered that I actually had 994 people click on the affiliate link in just over a day! Not bad, but not one sale!

I decided to purchase the ebook myself (even though I knew what was in it) to test the link. I got the book ok, but the sale never showed up on my stats. I emailed the product owner to explain the situation. She said she's noticed an increase in traffic on her site over the past day or so, and have made some sales, but nothing could be attributed to my link. She was even surprised that my own sale, through my own affiliate link, didn't get recorded. She refunded me the money I paid, and said there wasn't much she could do about the sales or the link problem.

So, I spent the past couple of hours putting together my own ebook on the subject, and have now replaced my affiliate links with my own product.

    Live and learn.

The links in your blog post to your affilliate program are not working. When I clicked on them a blank page came up.

That does bring up a good question - how do you track the effectiveness of your Adsense ads in your Blogger blog if there is no way to "hook" it to a channel within your Adsense account?

I tried clicking the links again and I'm getting the "internet explorer can not display this page" message. The url that comes up in the browser bar after clicking the link is http://bit.ly/amysedaris

A lot of the niches will be totally useless, even for Adsense. Quite honestly,
some of this stuff, I don't even know why people would look it up. But every
once in a while, you'll find a keyword phrase that has you salivating, and then
you check the competing sites and there's nothing out there.

Like I said, 40% of the time, the niches I choose earn me money. Picking
them is the hardest part. You have to develop kind of a sixth sense for this.

That's why this isn't really a method that you can teach a "step by step"
approach to because a lot of it is the selection process. Sure, I could
point out certain things to look for, but that would solely be based on my
      limited imagination.

In other words, the more out of the box you can think doing this, the more
successful you will be doing it.

That's why this is such a great money maker for anybody regardless of
how many people know about it, because not everybody is going to have
the intuition to pick just the right niches.

Thanks Steven, Another Great Method To earn some good side income. But cashing on the search data available from Google Trends requires a very deep and meaningful keyword analysis. As most of the time, the searches performed everyday would not be profitable or marketable all the time. But if you get on the right rising keyword news then you definitely hit the jackpot.

    Great post, Steven

With regards to making a blogger blog on the hot trend, as mentioned earlier, it's clear that a lot of the trends are either TV programmes, or names of celebrities. So, with regards to copyright issues, we can't, for example, have Britneyspears.blogspot.com, right? What about Heroes.blogspot.com?

Also, it was mentioned that you should look at the competition for your keywords. But I'd assume that the system was more geared towards using social bookmarking sites to deliver direct traffic; wouldn't that bypass any 'competition' factors? (Obviously, lower competition is better, but would that be more for 'long-term' interests?)

What am i doing with my life?

It's there. There's nothing on it, but it's there. And I don't see Blogger
or anybody demanding it be taken down.

If you look all over the Internet, you will see TONS of blogs with
      celebrity names.

If the celebs began demanding that they all be taken down, we'd all be
      up the creek.

So I don't see a problem of putting up brettfarve.blogspot.com if you
      can get it.

I hate when people praise posts like this because in theory they work but no one ever tries it and post their results...

Well I tried this, setup about 20 blogs yesterday... all on hot and volcanic topics according to Google trends. All different niches, some CPA offers, and some ebooks. One product promoted per page (I.E. no Adsense). Dugg, ping'd, bookmarked blogs.

    RESULTS:

On average I got 18-20 visits per blog. No clicks to the offers, no sales. And barely indexed, if that. I have a lot of respect for you Steven but I have to say that your preaching to the choir here.

Just because YOU didn't get any results doesn't mean that this system
      doesn't work.

Maybe your blogs don't have anything on them that got people interested
enough to stay or click on any of your affiliate links, Adsense or whatever.

That's like people who come here and bitch that article marketing
doesn't work because they wrote 10 articles and didn't make any money while I know tons of people, myself included, who make a killing doing
      article marketing.

I'm sorry this didn't work out for you, but don't bash the whole thing
just because YOU didn't get any results.

** EDIT ** One other thing. Just because something is volcanic doesn't
mean that it's monetizable. There are plenty of trends out there that
have no way of being monetized. You have to learn what to look for
and how to take advantage of it. That's the key.

OK, here's some results from back when this thread first started...

I found a hot trend related to the US Presidential election. I already had a Wordpress blog related to the election hosted on a subdomain of my main domain. (This blog had virtually no traffic before this.)

I put up a post related to the hot trend (so while the main search term was in the post title, it was not in the URL or the blog title, because that had already been created)...and I social bookmarked it in a few sites.

(AdSense was the only monetization for all this..)

The first day I made $84.38.

The next few days I made declining amounts. I kept adding posts over the next week, but didn't see any rise in results -- apparently most of the traffic was going to the first post (that's where all the comments ended up, too).

After about a week, it was down to a buck or two a day. Then suddenly, one day I got a traffic spike and made about $40.00.
Then back down to almost nothing.

Now the last couple of days, after getting zero clicks for about a week, I'm getting mini-spikes worth a couple of bucks a day.

I check the Gtrends page, but I can't figure out where these later traffic spikes are coming from.

I also made a blog about the SoCal wildfires -- got lots of traffic for a few days, but almost no clicks. That would be a hard one to monetize.

Also tried a few other blogs on other hot trends with no success. So it seems very hit and miss, but obviously it can work very well.

Thanks, Steven, for starting this thread!

Ken, as I said, my success rating with this is about 40%. $84.38 for your
first day is pretty good, but I've had better days than that, as much as
          $500.

Does it work EVERY TIME? Of course not. I've picked some real turkeys.
But for the amount of time I put into this, it's certainly worth it when you
hit on a winner for all of 30 minutes work.

Not to start an argument but I agree with Cash. I've noticed that Mr. Wagenheim's products and posts are very theory based.

Does this stuff actually work? Maybe, but I'm not going to waste my time on adsense when I could be actually building a business. Been there and done that with adsense.

This can work with Adsense, Amazon Products, CPA, affiliate products,
            anything.

People HAVE built businesses around this model, though I personally don't

to pick up a few bucks a day.

And as for my products, unless you have actually purchased them, how
can you say whether or not they are "theory" based?

LOL @ wasting your time on adsense... tell Darren Rowse that.. ask him what his biggest money maker was last year...

Steve posts could be considered as theory based, and because people like cash wanna make broad sweeping statements it would appear that it doesn't work, and although it might not be a 6 figure strategy.. it can and does result in cash when done right and with a keen eye on the trends.. and it makes a fun afternoon testing your research and implementation skills..

What you meant to say was

It didn't work for ME because I tried it....

There is a sea of affiliate's out there who get slapped by pay per click every week, but does that mean it doesn't work for profits????

          Same with article marketing
Same with squidoo lense building and amazon products
          Same with formula one racing
          same with fishing
          same with playing football
          same with golf..

You tried it and it didn't work for YOU... maybe you didn't have it down right?.. but I can vouch for this little trick... I've done it multiple times, it's not a strategy, it somethin fun to do when you find a hot trend.. make a little cash sometimes.

          But it works for me....

So to come here and rubbish that on the strength of 20 blogs that you put up is complete nonsense my friend..

          Peace

Yes, this is the same stuff that was in "Current Event Domination" last year and in the bonus pack of my WSO, "SEO Supremacy".

Going after Google Trends is still a viable and profitable venture. When you're ready to take it to the next level, however, take a look at Google Insight. Holy cow!

    Nice post.

This works if you hit gold and can become a waste of time if you don't choose the ideal hot item that people want to buy.

Just thought I would post some results. I posted about 5 blogs at first just choosing things that were heating up and made about 9 cents.

Earlier I put up a real short blog post (maybe a paragraph or two) on a volcanic trend and splashed adsense around it. I made the adense ads a different color than the background instead of blending it like the first 5 I had done.

I was lucky enough to get a trend that was hot with not many posts on it just yet. I popped up the blog and posted to about 10 bookmarking sites (less than an hour to do, more like a half hour). Within a half an hour after bookmarking it, the blog had made a little over $10. I know that it is not much, but in that little time I am pleased with the results.

It is also a nice break from other IM activities (I am working on a sales page).

I think the key though is speed, as you need to jump on the trend right as it is heating up or peaking and trend selection. The first 5 I picked just because it was in the top 10 and just wanted to test the waters. I think what also worked was putting myself in the shoes of the other person. This last trend has folks basically looking for a link to get what they are after (works well for adsense - IMHO).

Give it a shot, I am sure at day's end I will have made back my purchase (of Steve's WSO on this method).

    Thanks Steven.

      Hi Steve,

      thanks for the great idea!

I have implemented it, however something is not working for me. I have just checked my blog and adsense ads are not showing up on one of my computers. I had over 2000 impressions per day and only a 6 clicks so I suspect there can be something wrong with my blog theme and that people just can't see the ads when they view the pages.

Do you guys mind having a quick look at yournewsfix(dot )com to see if adsense ads are showing? They are supposed to be just under the posts heading.

      Thanks in advance!

Your adsense ads are showing just fine in Canada exactly under each post heading...

andreypod: Nice blog. Ads do appear below the first three posts. The max. no of text/image ad units per page is 3, if am not mistaken. So ads aren't appearing from 4th post onwards which is just fine and the way it should be.

This is still a quick and viable idea to try ( I gave thanks to Steve as well ) but does anyone check the dates of threads before posting on them and dragging them back to the top of the main forum? LOL.

Then again maybe it should be brought back up to top.....

Very cool post and Thanks for this Steve! I'm a relative newbie. I'd say on a scale of 1-5 I'm maybe a 2. I can grasp the idea of this so I thought I'd give it a try! I did it yesterday. I saw the words TEST DIES and had no idea what it was. Went to check it out and discovered it was a wrestler. I decided to give it a go. I used a blogger blog, did a little research and just basically wrote he died and history...here's the blog if anyone wants to check it out: (I can't make it a link cause I only have 7 posts)

    testdies.blogspot.com]Andrew Martin Test Dies

Now I have to say this took me about 4 hours! lol...That was only my second google blog too so that slowed me down.but writing the article was the longest part. I am not good at writing about something I don't know about, researching. So I am wondering too, is this blog too much? Would a few pics and just a basic news story work? (in my own words of course)

I am so new to social media that I didn't know what to do. I had a Digg account so I posted to it. That's all I posted to. I tried to do some other similar stuff but they wouldn't permit it for one reason or another. So anyway, all I did was the Digg and the Blogger. I got on the second page of google real quick and as of now I have 75 hits in less than 24 hours. I had 12 clicks to the epn campaign so tomorrow I'll let you know if I sold anything.

I can imagine with even a few other Digg type places where one could really get a ranking fast. I REALLY LIKE THIS IDEA. I know it's not a way to make money often but the fast pace of it combined with SEO tactics is challenging and as you said, it's kinda FUN! I can see where someone with a little more experience and know how than me could really take advantage of Google trends and make a game of this once in a while. Then as you said, you get lucky sometimes and make a few hundred! I'll post my results Monday evening.

The only difference is the ebook goes into a lot more detail on the steps
involved. But what I have posted here should be more than enough for you
to figure it out on your own.
