Have First Revie Site Up... Need Your Opinions

I put up my first review style site today using the WP Site REview plugin. It is becoming easier and easier to use.

I would like to get some feedback on how I have setup this site as well as ask for any "customer reviews" of the products I have up already.

Also, any suggestions on products to add would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the site: Affiliate Marketing Reviews

Thanks in advance.

U need an intro paragraph to tell the visitors what they're looking at. Right now it's just a bunch of links which mean nothing unless you put them into context

    Bruha,

I think it's interesting how you'd request others to review it for you. Without existing traffic, you'd probably have to review yourself for a while. Otherwise there would be no incentive for others to post their review on your site. I imagine you're just temporarily hosting it on subdomain for now.

As far as adding products, go join jvnotifypro.com and look out for upcoming ones and be the first one to review.

    Thanks for the quick responses.

This is my domain and am trying to create a product network based on the domain versusreports.com. So then sub's are all the niche's.

I am trying to model this site after Web Host Reviews by Customers | Award Winning Hosts.

It seems like i need product reviews to build the site reputation though.

can I offer contests up in exchange for reviews? Maybe $20 to the best reviewer of the month? Or something like that. Not saying that is what I'm going to do, but just a thought.

I think this is very innovative - now you're talking about an incentive, "What's in it for them."

Where should I post this contest though? On my site? Here at the WF?

also, what do you think would be an acceptable amount to offer?

I figured I would start with this niche because of this forum.

I collected the reviews for Award Winning Hosts by posting on web hosting forums asking people to review their hosts one day. Enough came in that it grew itself after that point.

I think the idea of a contest, or even just outright paying for authentic reviews, is an excellent way to get the site started. The commissions should cover the costs pretty fast once you start getting some traffic.

Alternatively you can search forums for reviews of the products you're listing, and PM the members asking to quote their post on your site. I'm sure many people would be fine with that since they get a backlink out of it.

    hi there,
first of all, congrats on your first review site
    kudos!

My opinion is, you need to make the site a little bit eye-catching and attracting to visitors. Honestly, I will leave your site in 2 seconds after I landed, because it doesn't seems like a credible site, and seems like don't have too many contents in it..

    good luck!

      Right now it's Plain.

you need to add more content and actually review it. All you wrote for the reviews is "this product costs $xx and contains 5 videos and 2 ebook" which really isn't a review.

The users are supposed to write the reviews on this type of site. It's a different take on AM review sites that can be much more convincing than "editorial" reviews... check out the conduit method for more.

          Ok Got it.

          Didn't pay much attention then.

Yes, so the question becomes how to get users to write reviews when there is no traffic to the site yet?

If you do write a review on one of these products you do get a link to your site. Is that tempting enough?

Well, there are three methods in this thread so far, two of which you could start with immediately

Alright, what would someone consider a reasonable offer to write a review?

Would I need to pay per review, or would a contest be sufficient?

Great layout, maybe you should list more review info for each site on the home page. And it'll be better if you add some statistics to the ratings.

I think you should be more detailed in your reviews. Tell them more about the prodcut and more about your personal experiences with it. The more personal you make it - the more likely other people are to review it as well because it will sound less like a sales pitch.

Other than that, all you need now is traffic.

What kind of information should I include here that I can get from the sales pages of these affiliate marketing programs?

I don't have the money right now to purchase every program.
