How Many RSS Submission Sites are Live?

So I have been looking for RSS submission sites today and came across a number of lists and services. I checked nearly all the sites I came across and only about 15 are live and accept actual RSS submission. And I don't know what those services talk about when they say they will submit to 70+ RSS directories.

So, anyone experienced in RSS submission have a good list to share? Or, is RSS submission not so important as some people keep telling?

        I have had similar issues with lists of RSS directories that I have obtained. Most no longer exist.

        Even the ones that do accept your feeds never seem to end up getting my sites any backlinks.

    Just bare in mind, the Internet is ever evolving and changing. RSS Reed agregators come and go as well as blog sites, Web 2.0 properties, social bookmarking sites, press release sites, so forth and so on.

    One bookmarking site that I really liked, Backflip.com has apparently folded. Blogsome has stopped taking new blogs and I could go on and on... So just play the numbers game!

    Just remember to build your OWN BACKLINKING NETWORK!

      Any ideas about your suggestion on "building my own backlinking network"?

        Honestly, we would have to start a new thread on the issue of building your own backlinking network. But once you've got it built, you can generate hundreds and thousands of one-way backlinks at will.

        The system essentially evolves around you putting together a team of aggressive IMers who are dedicated, resourceful and committed Team Players who have a "We don't quit, we don't lose and we don't stop until we win attitude!"

        I say aggressive because the big money is in highly competitive niches in which the competition is fierce; I mean cutthroat fierce! BUT, those niches PAY handsomely when you get to the top of the SERPs. It's much easier to do and remain on top when you have your own backlinking network that leaves zero footprints.
