What do you do when you run out of ideas to create a blog post?

Tip One: Use search feature inside WF.

Tip Two: Use Google - Search Your Keyword - Hit More Options - Hit Latest Results. Lots of ideas there, fresh ideas.

Use Google Analytics or similar program to see what keywords people are using to find your site and write about some of the more obscure phrases and terms.

An example would be a dog grooming site and you find that a few people here and there are finding your site using the phrase "fleas in the ears". Not only have you been given some more ideas but by writing posts with that phrase you are going to make it easier for others to find you with those keywords.

This is a very good way to grow your site "organically". Write about what the searchers are using to find you.

Look on eza for your topic and grab the article and resource box... Not only does it give you content but it also allows the original author to get backlinks to his or her site... I know that had happened to me a few times. I had found out someone copied one of my articles posted it on their site and so on...

Recycle. My favorite example are guitar magazines and martial arts magazines. While they may talk about new stuff too they'll have at least one issue a year dedicated to somebody like Jimi Hendrix or Bruce Lee.

Also, as someone else mentioned, research your keywords and do follow-up posts on your most searched topics or try to capture additional traffic by using related keywords.

Outsource... Look for guest bloggers or guest posters or article writers.

If You find a couple of guest posters, make sure they only write about your niche, of course, and that you give them something in return. It doesn't have to be money, but it can be a link within the article or you could add a author/bio box at the end of the post that they could link back to their website.

Guest posts but my secret weapon is search.twitter.com, like someone said above find out what people are talking about in your niche and give them what they want.

I'm with the others that suggested using keywords with Google and Twitter to see what the latest "buzz" is in your particular niche. It also doesn't hurt to keep a close eye on competitor's blogs, not to steal content necessarily but to get a feel for what has other people talking.

Find a relevant video on Youtube and post it

It not only changes things up a little, but you don't have to type much if you don't want to.

Well, I can come to WF - read your post title and then write a blog post:
"Is it possible that some people run out of ideas for blog posts?"
In the post I can explain them to process to create a new blog post - just go to the WF and read the post about What do you do when you run out of ideas to create a blog post?... and then just write a blog post wondering how is it possible that some people run out of ideas... etc.

But seriously, Loren had the best answer. Reading stimulates your mind. I am glad that nowadays less and less people read - it means less competition with good content and good ideas

List (and link to) your popular older posts.

Hello Axhan. Have you tried Google's Wonder Wheel yet? I find it serves a lot of unexpected information in very usable form.

Recently I was pursuing titles for a very general term. Pretend the term was "raise chickens". I put that phrase into the google search box, hit enter, then I clicked on "Show Options". It's right under the google logo once you enter a search term.

Play with Wonder Wheel. Play a lot. I found many new unexpected topics to write about related to (perhaps) "raise chickens." Give the Wonder Wheel a try and find all kinds of new topics for new blog posts. Enjoy!

I often use Metafilter and skim through questions in my niche with high number of answers for post ideas. Sometimes you have to combine ideas from several questions here to make your post unique.

Another place I find really good post title ideas is to Digg your niche then click on Most Dugg for popular titles in the niche.

i prefer most viewed articles on ezine articles for specific keywords and write articles with useful information. I use to do this to post new content on my blogs when I got stuck with...

2- use a tool like google analytics to find out what are the keywords that lead people to your site and write something about them
3- go to twitter and find most popular topics
4- come here and see what are the most popular threads

I always add Search Meter plugin to my blogs so I can see what people are searching for. Then I check it every so often and write about what they searched for.



It shows me if they got a result or not giving me some good info to match their search terms. So for example this is from a site that I sell articles on and as you can see in the graphics above I could supply articles on:

Maganetic Braclets
gluten
cats
fishing
and the list goes on

Azhan ,,, at the risk of being redundant, please share the general topic of the blog for which you are running out of ideas.

We've been trying to help you for a whole day now... and you're not back to acknowledge any of our thoughts. That's OK of course, since this is apparently a worldwide participant forum. But check back in when you can. It's terribly uncool to post a topic/question and then abandon it !!!

I love Michae-Mac's strategy of guest posts! I just don't (quite, yet) have the wherewithal to incorporate guest posts. Do you? Can you share what you know already or learn about this "share" strategy.

I also look at my stats and see what phrases my sites are being found for. You wouldn't believe some of the things people search for and it's a great insight as to what people are really looking for!

Your in a niche, head over to amazon, look at the books & magazines, your find lots of different topics to talk about .

I often think of topics by running Micro Niche Finder for keywords and seeing what people are searching for that has low competition to get better ranking in serps

I also use Google Hot Trends a lot also.

If your blog is about training dobermans, then discuss the difference in training dachsunds, talk about why dogs are superior to train than cats, talk about the craziest dog tricks you can find.

If you are promoting quilting, instead of talking about quilting designs and materials, talk about interesting characters in quilting, contact store owners and do an email or chat interview. Search out the biggest quilt auctions in the country and discuss the numbers of quilts made and sold.

If your blog is about using Twitter to make money, talk about the cool things you are learning from other people about how they make friends, meet singles, or keep in contact with buddies using twitter, then relate those topics to making money with twitter.

Every niche has associated topics, interesting tidbits hiding in the corners, crazy characters waiting to be discovered, and your audience waiting to hear all of it. You need to quit thinking about the narrow topic of your niche, and start thinking like someone who is interested in odd aspects of your niche.

(To find many of these things, locate forums, Facebook Groups, MySpace Groups, Chat rooms, etc.. where people are discussing your topic, or an associated topic, you will find the strangest questions, and answers.)

As it's been said, why not write about you and your thoughts about current events both around the world and around your life?

It's not hard to tie most things into your area of expertise. And ideas are ALL around you. And yes, reading will give you a lifetime of ideas.

I guess it's a "thing" where you will start to see more and more ideas all the time. If you're like me you'll even get excited to write about them. Suddenly, everything becomes "game" for a blog post.

And again, it doesn't take too much effort to wrap anything up into something else, although it's nice just to have a chance to let others feel like they know you for no other reason than just that.

Tell a story, reflect, muse, complain, warn, you're an interesting person. Let me know about it.
