Need A BlackBerry App - Who builds these?

The company I work with has an online system that requires
the use of Flash. I can access the site and perform some basic
tasks but without Flash I can't take full advantage of all the
features.

I've researched how to make a BlackBerry App but I'm not
a programmer and it all sounds Greek to me... LOL

Can you recommend someone who is knowledgeable and reliable?

this is a subject ive been out of the loop in recently, but in a past life i was quite involved. i hope my answers are not too dated because of this but i think they should still be accurate

so your question is not clear

so are you wanting an app that can directly interface with your company's system??

if so your going to just have to hit the freelance sites. how specialized of a coder you need depends on what you are looking for.

generic J2ME/MIDP apps will run on a blackberry as well as other mipd capable phones so if you have something coded this way would take a less specialized programmer and less device specific devolpmen. any pogrammer that knows J2ME can do it and if coded properly can be very portable to work on many devices.

or you can have something built specifically on the blackberry application framework. this would give the app more blackberry specific functionality, nicer UI, better input (trackball, blackberry buttons like back/menu/alt-softkeys), intergration with other blackbery components (pin msg, bb maps, browser), etc... if you need this stuff, using framework RIM has already laid is the way to go as they have done much of the hard work for you.

however this route also has more issues with OS changes, device specific functions, etc... would require more specialized programmer that knows blackberry, and would require testing on multiple deices.

so for generic and portability and potentially lower costs i say go with the former and for more rich developed, device specific, potentially higher cost go with the latter.

or are you looking for an app that can alow you to view flash websites?

because if you are looking for this you just need to wait. there have been millions spent on making this happen by RIM. there is not a browser out yet (at least last i looked) that coud do this. skyfire was almost there but never quire got there, then were bought out and the project ended.

RIM has the webkit browser in the pipeline that will be coming out soon and promises to deliver in this area. but time will tell.

so if this is what you want you will just have to wait

When I was using a Blackberry Curve, the site I used most for apps, themes etc was:
CrackBerry.com ? The #1 Site for BlackBerry Users & Abusers

    Hope that helps

    Thanks guys...

    Here are more details...

This company has a website where you can login, select a
greeting card from their online catalog, upload a picture to
be inserted into the card and type in a personalized message.

You then type in the recipient's postal address and click a
button. The company then prints a physical greeting card,
stuff it into an envelope, puts a stamp on it and mails it.

The card editor is flash based so it cannot be accessed
via my BlackBerry or any other smart phone I know of.

I'm looking for someone that can look at the system (I can create
a temp account so they can actually login and see it all) and tell me
if an app can be created to enable me to do everything I mentioned above.

Blackberry apps seem to be quite problematic. Developers are having problems making applications work well on all different types of blackberry.

You should be able to find a developer on odesk to help you.
