Wow, what a small world! I've seen you guys live once or twice with Corelli (I was their web designer at one point), and my fiancée lives down the road from Cannock!

      Here are a few ideas:

      1) Build a mailing list of fans by offering a free mp3, live recording, or even an album. Then, as soon as you have new gigs coming up or a new album release, let them know. But most importantly, build relationships with those fans.

      2) Post videos of your gigs and live performances on YouTube, then distribute them around the web using the normal IM methods.

      3) Use social networking websites such as Twitter, Facebook and MySpace to establish an online presence.

Although having a mailing list of fans is the biggest path to success, check out what other big bands such as Nine Inch Nails (awesome marketers) and Metallica do with their marketing, and use it as a model for your own.

      I hope I've helped :-)

      - James.

    Hi Joe,

What fun! My daughter is also an artist (singer) and doing very well with her internet promotion. Over a million plays, tons of gigs, working with well known musicians, featured on major social sites....etc. One important thing is to build that email list.

Though she has done a great job of getting her music out there we recently found a great product that teaches IM for musicians which really helps bring it into even greater focus. If you want the link PM me and I will look for it.

A big key is to ask. At first she would ask magazines, sites etc. if they wanted to feature/interview her. Each little thing leads to another and sometimes bigger things. So she eventually went from a feature in a small online magazine to a feature with a ringtone company to a feature on Windows Media Player.

Lots of opportunities out there, just got to grab them. Of course it does not hurt that she is beautiful and talented (if I say so myself

    Good luck!

If Google says you're the best band in the world, it must be true

Ask your fans to link back to your site. These days everyone has some sort of online presence, myspace, facebook, etc.
