Converting a WordPress Site to HTML?

Is there a way of archiving a WordPress blog?

That is, is there a script or application or something that can scan a WordPress site and replicate it in its entirety in HTML?

The reason I ask is that I have some WordPress blogs that I may eventually "freeze" and want to archive. Once you're no longer updating a site, a CMS is somewhat moot. So, once I've decided to put a freeze on a site, I'd like to have it converted to strict HTML so that I could wipe the MySQL database and not have to worry about updating WordPress on that site anymore. Plus, I could move it to any server without having to worry about PHP or MySQL or anything else.

Is there such a utility?

    Indeed, such a utility would be really useful. It would save me a lot of time. I've been copying from wordpress pages/posts and pasting into html pages, manually!

    You could use a site ripper like this: HTTrack Website Copier - Offline Browser
    There are other commercial products out there that do the same thing, but this is free (GPL) and easy to use.

      This is by far the best solution. I have to pull whole sites off the web all the time, and I use HTTrack exclusively.

      There used to be a firefox plugin called spiderzilla which used HTTrack inside firefox to save sites, but I don't think it is supported anymore.

    You can also just install the desktop wordpress and then use your data base to store the site.

    I do it in reverse and build my sites offline and upload but I am pretty sure it would work in reverse.

      I've also been searching for a way to archive my wordpress sites. After trying almost all alternatives I ended up with NCollector Studio from Calluna Software, which provided me with perfect copies everytime.

      calluna-software(dot)com/ncollector.aspx

      The settings I used was:
      "offline browse"
      levels=3
      subdomain only

      And that's it. Really simple and user friendly. A killer application.

      30 days trial, but hopefully I'm gonna finish all my sites before that!
