    Hi Masteri

The main place to get free lessons on niche research is this forum. The other place is youtube. Just type in "niche research" and learn.

There is a possible problem with the niche you describe. If the other sites are giving away free products this might be because there is no money in the niche. needs checking

Look no further than this forum for your training. There is everything that you need here to get you started in your internet marketing business. A lot of people here have been in your position, made the mistakes and learnt from them. This information that they give free on this forum is invaluable.

    Regards

One comment concerned me "there is not a lot of competition", that is usually NOT a good sign for information products. Typically what you want to do with infoproducts is find proven markets where information is already selling and either differentiate your entry into that market or head off in a slightly different, but still related market.

I always search Amazon, Clickbank, magazines.com and often other affiliate directories to find product listings to see how many and how well other infoproducts are selling.

Many times I have gone into busy, competitive markets and done extremely well in carving out a nice slice of business for myself. However, I've never been successful going into markets where there is little competition or little proof of existing information selling.

Here's a good video on niche marketing aimed at information publishers and marketers -

My pleasure GraemeWallis - I find the niche selection piece is behind so much frustration and lack of results online, once you get the hang of it, IM becomes so much easier.

Flint - good advice on researching demand for a given niche, one thing to be really careful of (I've seen many people make this mistake) is to also research what that market is buying.

Here's a great example...there is a ton of demand around the term "resume writing", but try and sell an ebook on it - not a great ebook or infoproduct market. But, if you are selling resume writing services, well there is certainly money to be made in that.

It is so critical to match demand with a hot product - that's where the money starts flowing.

use clickbank, google treands, alexa, although some quality time on research would be required when selecting a niche.

I swear by Keyword Research Pro for all my research needs in terms of keywords. You should check it out, its a bit pricey but its well worth the investment.

Have you looked into Market Samurai? I love that tool (and so do a lot of other people). It's absolutely fantastic for niche research.

Personally I do all my kw research using free tools, adwords keyword tool and semrush for supply and then SEO for firefox for demand. Using SEO for Firefox for demand takes a little practice before you get used to it.

I only target kw phrases that people indicates people are desperate... "product to stop......", etc

and i only target these kw phrases if there is close to zero competition.

Most importantly though, I start at the end,
The first thing I do is find a product that converts and then build the site around it.

Loads of people think that all they need to do is build a site and then choose a product. Choose a product, then build a site!

    Hope you found this helpful

Not having a lot of competition might be an indicator that it is not a very profitable niche. That isn't always true, of course, but if you can find high converting offers on Clickbank or elsewhere, there might be a good chance that you could monetize it.

I use Micro Niche Finder to find low competition keywords, but finding high converting offers for those keywords is also important.

I quite like knowing that there are lots of affiliate products including some with continuity programs. Then I know marketers are making money, that I can expand on the back end or ... if I don't want to create products then I can just build a list and use email marketing to promote as an affiliate.

Check to see if the niche has any forums. Are there a substantial amount of products being sold in that niche? Are there a substantial amount of PPC Campaigns for that niche? Yes to both questions is a good indication that the niche is healthy and is profitable. Good luck!
