INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

new to internet marketing and using this forum, so hope I am abiding by the rules.

Question I have is I have tried article marketing, adverts, video marketing etc etc but list does not grow. Have heard about free giveaway events where you can join with an experienced marketer, offer a free gift and hopefully get subscribers. How do I go about finding these events and how do I join in?

Give away events are where you would offer your product or free gift to the event for free. The event calls all the gift givers to send a message to their list about the event. This way you have 10-50 marketers marketing the site to find your free give away. They would then have to sign up to your list for the gift.

It's a good way to get a bunch of non responsive freebie seekers in a short amount of time , but has brought me a couple thousand subscribers to my lists.

As for getting a free mentor, I don't know of any service for that.

One easy way is this:

1. Using this forum, put together a "free" info product.
2. Create a WSO ($20).
3. Have them sign up in order to download your report.

Generally speaking, providing it is a decent product, you can probably expect 100-200 signups for that.

  One of the most competitive niches against the most experienced marketers is the internet marketing niche.
  
  The giveaways events and WSOs are aimed at internet marketers. I've found it to be 10 times easier marketing to other niches where the visitors to your site are not as knowledgeable as those in IM.
  
  Your opening post suggests that you need to develop skills in building effective landing and opt-in pages. That also leads to skills in crafting the email follow ups.
  
  Do some keyword research and find a niche that interests you (other than IM) where you may have a competitive advantage and devote your time to building a list there and marketing to those who opt in.

  The one site that I use to find giveaways is newjvgiveaways.com. I would give you a link, but I need 15 or more posts to be able to do that. I just joined the forum yesterday.

I find JV Giveaways from other marketers ... I've subscribed to loads of lists partially to keep my finger on the pulse, partially to build a swipe file of email headlines and .... wait for it ... to learn stuff!

And more often than not you'll get an email asking if you'd like to sign up for a Giveaway as a contributor.

Matt Wolfe also lists them on his blog ... another good resource.
