Ok.. So i have found my market and my Niche....

Hello everyone

Right i will jump straight to the point and (hopefully) not procrastinate.

After acting like a sponge for the past few days i have finally started researching my market and Niche. I have gone for something which i have a fluent understanding in and actually do for a living.

Basically i am stumped on what to do next. The only place (that i can find) which sells the product/s which i wish to market is Amazon. Is it as simple as creating a website based around the product and affiliate linking to Amazon whilst placing AD's on my website?

I am from the UK but i assume this doesnt affect much?

Kindest Regards

Liite

Yep that's one option ... build a blog or a website using relevant content and put up some Amazon ads ....

The big question you should ask is how will you get traffic to the site ... that's the one thing that catches me out (but don't put things off because you're not sure yet ... there's always a way and doing is good!).

I think getting it up would be step one.

Then perhaps consider adding an opt-in box and writing a free report to build a list.

And step three would be to start sending messages that either recommend books you may recommend or review or even your own product.

Thank you for the swift reply. OK so at least i am heading in the right direction hmmmmmmm the idea was to have a main "review" site that then directly linked to the product OR have several Micro Niche sites that then directly linked to the products... OR both :p

Traffic, i assumed by SEO and actually having relevant content on my site.

I have heard wonders on PPC and CPA but dont have a clue on how i can implement either or if they are a completely different ball game all together

Are you sure they have nothing related on Clickbank? I just recently wrote a Hub about making homemade chili and there was even a few chili ebooks on there. I'd at least check it out.
Thankyou for your suggestion. However what i wish to market cannot be an ebook. Its a tangible item that can only be a tangible item

This is the biggest issue i have found. Finding where i can get the product to market it

    Hi Liite -

You're right on the money with your understanding of the concept. The "devil's in the deatails" as they say. Here are a few thoughts:

    1) I don't know your niche, but Amazon typically doesn't pay much in the way of affiliate commissions. You might want to ultimately explore additional monetization models. Think related services / products that your market would be interested in. Enter main keywords in Google and make note of adwords ads. This may give you some ideas.

    2) You'll need to decide what type of website (business model) you're going to focus on. Product review type site? Content oriented authority site that uses articles videos etc. to attract traffic? A simple site that gathers contact info (opt-in) for on-going email marketing?

    3) My suggestion is to start very simple to test your market. If demand looks positive, you can scale up and become more complex. And, I would focus on providing something of true value right out of the gate. This will establish trust and credibility for the long-term.

    4) Remember, it always boils down to traffic. How will you communicate with and attract the "hungry masses" to your site?

I know these aren't magic bullet answers. But hopefully help as you move forward...

You could create your own product within the niche, physical or info product. Look for a common problem or question and create a solution. This works well if you're the only one providing the solution as you instantly dominate part of that niche. Go where people in that niche hang out and talk about stuff (odds are you already do) and get ideas. Good luck!

Wow a very detailed answer thanks.

      1. There is an alternate product/service that goes hand in hand with my product so venturing down that route may work.

      2. My initial idea was a product review site but may have to change if my product changes

      3. Defiantly i will be starting small

      4. I have no clue in all honesty

To create my own product would require Millions (no exaggeration at all)
However there are common problems and questions which i DO know the answer to.

The best way to describe my Niche is: (this isn't my Niche but the best way to describe it)

Its like people wanting to know how to fix a desktop/laptop they take it to a repair shop, get a quote, if they arent happy with the quote they buy a new one.

I was looking to affiliate link the desktop/laptop part and create a site around that and Amazon is the only place where i can do such a thing. But the only way to "Look for a common problem or question and create a solution." Would be to open up a repair shop and price it cheaper than everywhere else.

I hope that gives a better understanding

There's so many ways to make ka-ching via the internet... eBooks, AdSense, video's, affiliate marketing etc, etc

But if I were you I'd suggest sticking with the one thing until you get your feet wet before branching out.

I don't know how hungry your market is but I'd suggest writing an eBook and putting it on the ClickBank marketplace as a first step.

But you need to make sure you are giving your market exactly what they want. So hang out on the forums in your market and look for the biggest questions they have. And head over to 43Things.com to find out what people really want in your market. Also go to KeyWordDiscovery.com and look at the long-tail keyword searches... again looking at what people in your market really want... you want to solve problems people in your market can't find an answer to.

Then what I'd do is spend a couple of days researching and put it all together into an eBook... but it sounds like you're probably already an expert in your area.

However, the real key in internet marketing (WRT eBooks) is knowing how to write long-form direct response sales letters. If you decide eBooks are the way you want to go I'd definitely spend most of my efforts learning how to write effective sales letters that convert. Spend time looking at the sales letters on the ClickBank marketplace... especially the ones with high gravity scores and model them. Good luck!

I think i will have to go with Amazon. There is physically no way i can get an Ebook out about the products. The questions that the market really want they wont pay for,you can find the information on the box and the specification sheet.

Well i guess theres no harm in trying aye?

Yep - just put up a site with your amazon links! It really is that simple.

It's true Amazon does not pay a high percentage, but I think you will be surprised at how many other things people buy in addition to your product.

Later on you can expand into other affiliate programs or whatever, but for now just get something up and start driving traffic!

I've had great success with Amazon. I think it's a good idea, just go with it and see if it works.

I agree with cashcow, Amazon's kind of cool because you'll want to sell someone a certain product, but you'll end up selling a 50-pack of Cheetos or 5 smut-books to one person.

        Hey dude,

Fellow UK based marketer here :-)

If you haven't already, then I would definitely recommend getting a blog up and running. If you use fantastico in your hosting cpanel and wordpress it takes all of about half an hour to build and then you have a base to send traffic to/post articles/host videos about the topic.

Wordpress combined with videos (esp youtube ones) is a bit of a traffic magnet too as google loves these two :-)

As others have suggested, you could then have an opt-in form on your blog to start building an email list (which is where you will make the big bananas :-))

Good luck with it bro - if you need any more help give me a shout :-)

Oh, I also recommend setting up a Twitter account as a means to drive traffic... I have built 23,000 followers on Twitter now... trust me, it aint that hard to do

        Peace and blueberry muffins,
